Was in between two thunder cells here this time round, very dark skies and sopme distant thunder and lightning buit only an additional 2mm of rain so far, making 15.4mm for the day.  So far. The other 13 mm fell earlier this morning and I was oblivious to it zzzzz

That was great fun. Highlight was a huge CG to the South near the end.

Blue sky to the South towards Bournemouth now.

I think it's one of those "The further west you are the better events!"

As I picked up 6.5mm of rain and yet further west Mapantz picked up 17mm of rain.

T & L  moves east as the band moves Northwards, and band number 3 (showers) progresses slowly Northwards..

That seems to be the case here. Main bulk of t and l has gone to my East to the Chilterns. Rain incoming from the south where it's as black as night!

I went down to canford cliffs but by the time I got there it more or less finished. Epic rain and lightning in Poole to start

It was a fairly quick moving band, that's for sure, but most UK bands with T & L "seem" to move quite quickly in the UK. Whilst chasing storms in the USA, T & L bands would last for an hour or more, but I guess it's the nature of the beast across the UK.

Cuttlefish were washed up all along the beach between Durley Chine and Branksome this morning after the thunder storm in the early hours that was so loud it woke us all up.

Tornado hit Marwell Zoo. Loads of Trees down. Cars smashed.

Was it a witnessed tornado? Or just strong winds? I've tried to find info on the internet but couldn't see much.

I wanna say witnessed as the zoo has a tornado icon on their social media telling people about the closure tomorrow to clear it all up

Be great if some footage surfaces. I saw a mini-tornado filmed near the New Forest (ITV news), but it didn't look that powerful.

I hate missing extreme weather. There's been precious little action up here.
