I work with teenagers . Four year olds are okay, I expect they are very tired if they've just started school .

I am lol 😂

Just lost power for a few mins.

Well that was exciting...

Turns out only our power was cycling. On closer inspection, the main switch on the consumer unit was failing.

Luckily, the chap that fitted it years ago lives in the village. He also had a spare switch, so he's only gone and fixed it for nothing. Top man.

Sun popped out here just now, rain has stopped and it's brightening up. Now to go and get wet, as it seems the spiders have roosted in my pluviometer. Ffffsxxxcxxs! Grrr.

Looks like another dollop of torrential rain coming from the southwest this time rather than south, so not surprised to see the amber. 68.0mm of rain since midnight now.

Suggested radar shows this over you around 3pm and clearing

Yes I agree with both of you on that,  getting dark again , temp up from 15.8 to 17 and rising.  Could be a flash abd bang and then torrential rain but hopefully that will, be our lot rain wise.

Any sunshine in the dry slot or is it going to stay gloomy? If so less than an hour of sun all weekend and most of that was early yesterday!

Do you think those storms currently off nw france could teach us ?

Right so, thankfully the rain stopped and it's warmed nicely, giving me plenty of opportunity to take down the pluviometer, remove the leaves AND the housebound spiders, give it a seasonal rinse and place it back in position. Only thing I couldn't do was replace the battery (as I don't have one) so it'll come down again as soon as the battery arrives as will the Vantage Vue, and the remote sensor units. Seasonal clean, spider remove and battery replace, might even replace the super cap as it's been in there a fair long time (touch wood it still loves me!).

Currently sunny and 18.8°C down from the peak of 20.9°C at: 15:06

When you say "Us" do you mean the area?

Forward looking 'suggests'

Attention now turns to Wednesday.. I wonder if the Met Office will issue a yellow warning? Not that it looks like being that bad, but they do like their wind warnings. 👻

It's been great this afternoon watching the low level clouds scudding to the NW, while those at mid level meander to NE.

Feels much fresher now.

Lightning to my east - over the eastern New Forest & Southampton area - in the past 15 mins, quite frequent at times, a few discernible bolts, all C-C.

Some of those long, grumbling examples of thunder.

Sky is flashing now my cat who was sat at window just ran under the table

An extra cell seems to have developed near the back edge as the system is encountering uplift from the Plain. It’s produced the loudest thunder of the last hour or so.
