The worst pain is moving from an area that is having the best of storms now. Bedford does my nut in at times.

A shame, because Bedford used to always get good storms. I know as much as I used to watch them roll in from the S and SW from my bedroom window in Peterborough, back in the 90’s and early 2000’s especially! Every week in late spring after school, we would have a good few pearlers roll past. They would often delay the exit from school too! Sometimes you’d get another even better one hit after the first one. That’s how spoilt we used to be. Not sure where it’s all gone wrong.

This Storm is strong compared to even the mainland European ones at the moment.

Any luck @Supacell?

I'm in the centre of Hereford and it's gone nuts here.

Is there more than what's showing on the radar? radar at times seem quiet

Not overly convinced now for Birmingham unless it's still early yet

After appearing relatively capped and calm looking, the sky here seems to be rapidly filling with Ac and some chunky AcCas in places (although hard to verify). Can also see  what appears to be anvils streaming in from the far SW skyline.

Visually at least, it’s starting to look promising for our neck of the woods @snow raven

I have seen some amazing storms on the coast and I've had some amazing storms over Bedford.  Where we live sometimes we have storms practically develop over us (which happened in August) but mostly storms break up as they hit my area and then re-built later up country. I just think it's the part of the area i live in. Snow is another example.

I would love to see a shelf cloud like people in SW have seen. Not jealous, at all.

Must have some sort of backbuilding going on as just had an extremely loud positive strike out of nowhere and almost instant gunshot thunder!

My rabbits weren’t phased by fireworks but they did not like that!

Biblical raining here in Christchurch, and very sporadic lightning

Great for the grass, expected more lightning if I'm honest. Hopefully this peps up a little

I was always told that living near the chilterns if the storm didn’t get in it would travel around and hence miss places in Bedfordshire. Don’t know if that’s possible?

Just spotted my first flash! They seem much brighter tonight, i don't know if it's just me or...

Well, 'm going to head off now. I've got a storm to watch! I can't wait for it to get closer. Hope you all get a good storm as well and I'll be back tomorrow afternoon about 3pm.

This week has been better than 2020 + 2021 storm seasons combined for me...

Well, bye everyone - Good luck.

Seems to be slowly moving NE. Question is will it die out before it gets here?

I found the culprit.. about 2 miles away. That's the direction I was looking at whilst sat watching.
