Our MOD thread friend from Leicester thinks the GFS is ‘wrong’ and too far north and will ‘correct itself’ by morning hmm it’s going to be a long few days lol! 😄❄️🤔

I bet you he would say the opposite if he was from say Carlisle.

Do they do they have it all reaching Cumbria mate

Yes no problem making it through Cumbria, key factor is they show a deeper low, the deeper the low the further north the front will make inroads.

-2°c here met app not going below freezing here tonight 🤣🤣🤣

-1.1°C here keeps jumping around. There is a slight westerly or variable wind until midnight which would explain that.

There will be a snow watch tomorrow, that should hopefully clear alot of posts out of the mod thread complaining/speculating about snow prospects from an IMBY perspective, the mod thread may make for more normal viewing tomorrow, I say may..

I think it's disgusting that they turn it into the southern England snow watch thread, I made a post with charts showing snow reaching my area was removed 🤣🤣🤣.

Just looking at the gfs I'm back up to about 12-15 hours of snow. That'll do me 🤣

Rather chilly out there now, -3.2C

Tomorrow seems to be steadily upgrading, now showing sleet/snow symbols from mid afternoon through to early evening on metoffice website.

Watched the footy resulted me in missing a very light snow shower as there is evidence of snowflakes/grains on top of the car. Radar showed a couple of shower cells in the vicinity also!

Imagine, we wait years for proper events, only for 2 or 3 to come along like buses. 🙏🙏🙏

Latest arpege has 21cm in Taunton where my sister is by tomorrow afternoon… if that happens that’ll be the most she’s had in the 20 years she’s been down there…

looking to see what the updated models have for our neck of the woods

Actually wouldn't surprise me at all tbh. Happens with thunderstorms as well look at first week of September last year or June/August 2020.

Too many models to know what the hell’s going on.
Looks like we’ll get snow Thursday maybe the heavier stuff has moved a little South.

I think the GFS does overdo the strength of the lows at times, would prefer a shallower system but it does shows a very tight temperature gradient which could enhance any PPN?

For those in the south of the region, there is a growing indication that front could reach anywhere from Mancheter southwards one to keep an eye on I think.
