Yes we have sleety snowflakes whirling about, temp dropping, but still a mild 4 degrees, I am not expecting much, perhaps the briefest of temporary cover on favoured surfaces but blink and miss, it will turn to wet sleet then rain.. not a fan of these events, when you know mild air will wash away whatever settles.

Very light sleet just started, feels like the temp has dropped a lot in the last hour, very raw. About 3-4cm fell in egremont on saturday but rapid thaw and all gone by about 1pm, was a good snowfall for here just wish it happened before february to enjoy it more. Not expecting any more than a few flakes tonight and definately no laying snow.

Moderate wet snow, more sleety in nature than proper snow, temp dropping but still mildish at 2.7 degrees, faintest of slight cover on grass and car roofs, I say faint, but as said we may see a temporary very slight cover if it peps up more. Its going dark now, has felt a raw wintry day. One thing watching snow fall does is tell you what are the coldest surfaces and warmest, huge micro climates out there, why do some cars see a cover well before others.. why does one side of the road see a cover and the other take ages... roofs a re a give a way, you can tell the poorly insulated buildings straight away, also its a barometer of the compass, east and north aspects tend to hold on to snow far longer than west and south.

Doubt anything will settle below 300m.

Snow here is now heavy enough to be settling on grass. Temp just above 1c and still sub zero dp.

1.5C now. Wet snow continues to fall. Another temp drop and it’s the good stuff

Some heavier precipitation is incoming, and the temp is dropping further 2.3 degrees, we might see a general cover out of this rather than temporary slight, grass is turning white.

Even the smaller bits are snow now. No rain.
temp has another 2 hours to drop, then it’s on the rise.

Has it really, might see a cm cover at this rate, it is coming down thick and fast, evaporative cooling doing its job and most surfaces are now quickly turning wet. Might need to go on a brief walk in the next hour before it all goes..
