I know but a cluster developed between Mossley and Failsworth and I missed that by a stones throw   Oh well such is the nature...it's really kicking off around Manchester City area and beyond though so good luck to them.  I just want the garden watered!

Edit: skies are really dark now overhead...surely I'll get a drenching from this.

Yes, I’m enjoying watching all that move over Manchester.  Have a good outlook to SE, so has been fun.  That said did have a direct hit yesterday here.

It’ll reach ormskirk at 8pm when I leave work and get bloody drenched in it I imagine.

Just to the South/West of me from Swinton some poor souls around Eccles have been in those purple/white echoes for about 30 minutes now. Some friends said they have a lot of flooding there, what a difference a mile makes.

Thunder getting closer almost constant rumbles. Feels epic.

Wind has really got up here and after about two hours of growling thunder on and off, now flashes of lightning finally visible to SE.

Nice Thunderbolt just behind Santander on Deansgate. Proper explosive bang.

Looks very slow moving no wonder there’s reports of flooding.

Can see the top of that storm heading towards Blackpool, some 50 miles away. 

Looks like we'll miss the rain again, had a short shower yesterday evening but ground still bone dry, was yet another baking hot day. What a start to summer this year!

More gunshot thunder & lightning with lots of surface flooding - definitely the best/ worst depending on your viewpoint  storm in a long while here it just keeps going ⛈
