Meanwhile, at sea level justy now, in Ulverston (daughter's house, I live in the south). You wouldn't even expect this by looking at the rainfall radar!

It's gone dark here, specks of snow coming out the sky but nothing of note. Hoping that band organises itself better.

Looks like Cumbria is getting the whole lot! Continuous heavy snow till early morning, literally all I ask for. Meanwhile, down here it's all a marginal mess as always.

Hoping the met updates are wrong and we see a terrific snow event for our parts.

An ice day here managed to get up to 0c today with sunny skies clouding over with the odd grain of snow in the past hour will be radar watch and now cast tonight but anywhere between 2- 10cm seems to be possible.

Parts of Cumbria have definitely hit the jackpot snow wise today though - deepest snow some locations have had in a long while.

Big Question though is it the south of the regions turn tonight?! ❄️👀🤞🥶

Amazing, could well reach a foot or more, set to last well into the morning.

Woke up to very thin and slushy deposits this morning but the fells are covered, think if we were 75M higher we would have had snow, annoying that the ppn has skirted around us all day aswell, fingers crossed that streamer moves north

Glad you guys in Cumbria have done very well today as for some odd reason you've missed out over the last few years where it's usually been south of the Ribble that gets the snow. What do they say good things come to those who wait?

Heavy again. Ridiculous event. Easy 5 inches laying now. Possibly more.

Just dipping in from south east..wow..envious ( in a nice way)..what i find odd is just looking at latest met office video and presenter stated that showers 'perhaps' turning wintery over north western hills...and there was no reference to their own amber warning...not knocking met as i think they do a good job in general but this latest video forecast seems way out with what is going on...

Oooh that sky is just full of it, stunning snowfall, lovely to see, there's something magical about the first proper falls of the season.  Here’s hoping the majority of us experience something similar.
