Pretty sure the 850hpa are the driving winds for these cells which should bring them up to the Midlands🤞

Yeah looks like it but the only concern is the pulse type so they will probably need about 5 daughter cells to reach us lol, unless we get some of our own local development in the next few hours.

View to the north, storm over Crawley.

I'm not hearing much activity from the Storm in the Horsham area anymore. I'm presuming its move further north now.

Convection now popping off over the Goyt Valley, areas south of Manchester keep a eye out as there's a Pileus Cap on this one that is still going upwards.

Pileus formed on this not long after taking photo.  NNE of Macc.

We now have thunder from that cell 😄 from a few Accas clouds to spitting forks in 30 minutes, not too shabby.

Can see the increased convection to the west through the haze. Would be nice to get something closer here, but would take some flashes in the distance at dusk 😄

Then there's me basically 6 miles away in a direct line getting zero rain and it's still baking 😢

Just hoping we get something later even though I'm outside the warning area from the MetOffice

The channel import chance this evening is absolutely gone, again all the models and agencies have done a terrible job in forecasting

My south is looking increasingly moody and my sister-in-law in Petts Wood has just asked if it’s going to rain.

The Crawley cells are creeping slightly north as well as NW, but building slightly eastwards bit by bit too!!! The sky to my south and SE is the closest I think I’ve seen to Cu build up without properly blowing. This could be a close one.

30C here with a 16C dp.

Can only imagine the show of lightning I'd be getting after sunset

Hoping for those cumulus clouds north of London to overcome the capping...

Looks like a surface low is developing around there as forecasted.
