Storm pop corn already and some well developing in the distance in the south and west, more cells could fire up soon. Also good starting the day with sun.

Good convective skies to start the day.

Already been some cells over the Peak District, but they were moving way too fast for me to attempt chasing them. Good news is that the sun is out and so temperatures will very soon start rising quickly and in a humid, unstable airmass. I'm still not 100% sure where to go, but still thinking somewhere around the Western Peak District for late afternoon. Before that I will stay home and will something to crop up here.

Uh, fortunately Alderc that AROME chart displayed is 07UTC which would correspond to 08BST. So we've got an hour yet for these developments to kick off 😄

Latest radar frame would suggest dark echoes developing S of IOW.

Haha, fair! Not surprised that models are having difficulty getting a good grasp tbh.

The stuff erupting near IOW is now electrified and I have this pile of beauties to my west currently (you can just make out the A380 turning towards Heathrow in front of it).

I have a HIIT class between 09:00 and 10:00 and really struggling whether to go, or wait out to see if there are any storms…what to do!!?!?!?!?!?

I can see exactly the same sort of thing, it's about 15 miles to my SW, radar shows a small shower developing.

Hearing the booms from the strikes out in the channel at the moment! I fear thats all we will get though... other than wet.

Had a small thunderstorm come through about 2.30am, couple of flashes and a bit of thunder, but nothing of any note. Interested to see how the line of storms that's recently lit up in the channel fairs as it moves up toward me.

Something brewing over the Channel with IoW's name on it.

Also can see the arc of Ac cas bringing spotty showers and storms across N and E England lifting N on the nose of higher theta-w plume streaming N

00z models bit over the place still, not really modelling storms mid E Channel too well, ahead of cold front rain, UKV probably closest and has a line move NE tbis morning, maybe a bit slow, EC perhaps similar but faster.
