Some lovely looking storms passing by. None hitting yet

Big one to the SE and SW of Gloucester

Never captured so many bolts on a video. A bit of an active, electric storm. I have a few pictures of some of the bolts however I am trying to find more. I'll post them all later!

Literally missing us by a few miles, couldn’t even hear thunder because it’s so windy.

Absolute bedlam the rain was here, huge drops. A few decent rumbles with it but super impressive rain.

Just had hefty storm here.

Torrential downpour and hail for around 25 minutes.

Pics of the tail end of it as it moves away and the sun breaking through.

The anvil shape of the retreating cumulo nimbus still evident.

Wow, just shows how localised this stuff is. Not a drop of rain on my side. Hopefully the next batch to the south west continues throwing out bolts and catches up to us.
It’s still only midday so stuff can easily change in the next few hours

Rumbles of thunder here

Most of the storms have now passed me, however I am surrounded by anvils and tons of other clouds, this could be one of the best storms I have captured on video.

Some impressive storms about today. Very surprised about the lacklustre risks today. The ingredients are and were certainly there for some severe wind gusts, hail and frequent lightning.

Looking at Radar impressive lines of activity straddled accross the country ...inbetween those..well not a lot yet ...atmosphere pretty lively though and feeling warm here despite the wind...hence lively thundery activity...hope to get lucky soon..

Had two very heavy showers, with hail already this morning, sun out one minute, hammering down the next, that's on top of the 37mm rain we had yesterday. Not heard any thunder yet but the RIAT is on and at least they seem to be flying today, pitta the poor people there yesterday.
