Lol they popped up rapidly and are now decaying just as quickly. Sporadic large raindrops here from a red radar echo.

I’m off to watch an episode of line of duty - if nothing changes by the time it’s done I’m getting an early night

There's only one thing I'm interested in, and that's catching Kent Clipp---..I mean, bent coppers

Would love to be on the ground over N France right now as two strong cells literally are smashing into each other. One travelling ENE smashing into another travelling almost NNW!

That'll be ground based into elevated, not sure I would want to be there lol

We're looking for home growns these eve, doesnt matter much what happens in the channel. Looks like the cold front is initiating some showers in the south currently, but not progressing quickly. Things look better later as the pressure falls and position of the jet looks more favourable for divergence

Not much to ask... but why can't we have a 1,500 mile long active storm front as per current activity below... 🙄😖

I'm watching France, and noticing the development of what is meteorologically known as a "Reigate Corridor".  This phenomenon can be seen clearly wherein the large mass of thundery rain in north-west France heading north to England will pass to the east of Reigate, and the showers forming in Cherbourg area, will move north and pass to the west of Reigate.  This phenomenon will leave Reigate free of any thundery activity, and its residents utterly depressed.

So. I've decided to stay on my home patch, I can see the cells near Cherbourg flashing away every 5 seconds or so 😀

I've been up since 4am, going for a long drive is probably not the best thing to do, especially at night and on roads I don't know.

So I'm keeping everything crossed for something local, Eastern areas should do well though, so good luck to everyone

Its quite mad really.
That part of France seems to get a LOT of storms. Every time I'm tracking potential, its constantly rumbling around there.

Yet, this small channel of water causes so much of a problem for us. Always cooling the air and killing potential.

I initially was like. wtf is a Reigate Corridor that's a new one for me... Then the penny dropped. 🙂

I've always targeted Clermont Ferrand as a retirement location!

These forecasts just leave me fantasizing about the excitement it would be to experience a storm like this.

I know it won't happen, just trying to make a point! 🙂

Am I being overly optimistic, or are the cells from Cherbourg to Lannion trying to organise into a line?

I sure hope so. That's what The Weather Channel say, and the Met seem to agree to an extent...

Definitely, it's not worth putting myself and others at risk over a photo

Good thing is I can see cloud forks out to sea

Still think anything north west of the line is very unlikely

I am just about in that line ...but would rather be in Brighton or further east
