Sitting outside and think I am getting savaged by mosquitoes - so joggers and hoodie now both on!

Sounds like I’ve got a little garden mouse to keep me company too 🥳

Still seeing plenty of flashes but nothing stand out yet and certainly too far away for any thunder to be heard.

Not sure the views the best but I've finally managed to get this to work.

Good to see the central south finally getting some action....I think that means now my part of Cheshire is probably the worst performing area this year for storms. We had a brief 10 min thundery shower and that was it in the last 3 years.

This is amazing never seen lightning and constant rumbling like this

I can’t remember the last time we saw a storm like this. Constant lightning (and now thunder) for nearly 45 minutes now. And now the rain has started…

I have distant lightning and thunder now, pretty much continuous to the south of Reigate.  Seems like the 'Corridor' has closed and I'm going to get some action.

The Brighton Marina webcam is going nuts

For anyone else in the West Mids, i've just watched these cells develop over the last 5 mins, on a direct course to Birmingham. will watch closely

Feels good to have a day off tomorrow so I can just radar watch, West of London should be in for a treat soon

I hope so, the bits and pieces over us so far seem to get much more energy after they head north east!

Storms around here picked up very rapidly, but seem to have suddenly died.

Think this is going to skirt to the West of me, sadly.

Typical though we've had all Summer without hardly any imports from the channel but they happen right at the end of Summer

Best storms in my experience happen around the changing seasons - spring into summer or summer into autumn - the clashing of cooler/drier air against the hot and humid air 👍 bit like you see in the US - the strongest storms typically taking place around spring and again in autumn
