Some bright colours showing on the radar and there not far from here now.

guess I’ll soon know how heavy the reds and oranges are.

edit……..it’s arrived and it’s heavy.

Where's all this come from? Good luck to anyone currently navigating a few pubs or bars.

Good job I went out last night, at least it was mainly dry with just a bit of drizzle in the air if a bit gusty. Wouldn't have been so good if a lady was dressed like Marilyn Monroe though 😂 👗

Typical Lake District weather - thick cloud, damp, fog over the fells. The last few days have been continuously dark, wet and windy here, with no sun whatsoever, which is unusual even for this time of year. Even a typical Atlantic onslaught pattern you would normally get a dryer and brighter day between weather systems.

Windscreen wipers have failed on our train  back to Manchester.  The train will be terminating at Preston.

The next train to Manchester from Preston has been cancelled.

Obviously the wrong type of rain for the wipers, the wet type.

If they cannot run another train to Manchester, I hope they provide a coach.  Been a long day for you.

Got off train at Lancaster and got on Avanti that was stuck behind.  Got off at Warrington Bank Quay and now on TFW to Manchester Piccadilly.  Hopefully we'll make the 2300 or 23.30 train back to Hadfield.

A damp, dark kind of Saturday typical of the time of year to be honest brightening up somewhat towards dusk but not much use this time of year with rain following on this evening. A potentially very mild Xmas Eve tomorrow with 12-14c across the south of the region the 14c maybe somewhere like Hawarden but with more rain and winds picking up probably not feeling it. Unsettled again on Xmas Day, some Boxing Day respite then more unsettled weather late week leading into a possible change to something drier and colder into the New Year we can hope.

Still raining a bit here and there's a wild booming wind.    What a night.   Rain belt is moving south, but daresay , as usual, we will have taken the power out of it and down there there'll be just a damping.  I'm fed up with this utterly miserable weather.  Can anyone forecast any cheer?
