-3.7ºC here overnight; still -1.5ºC now

Everywhere is frozen hard; cars are like royal icing and the cats disapproved of it when they went out at 0650 and tried to do a u-turn mid air as I was closing the door behind them 😂

Morning all.

Just woke up and looked out of the window expecting frost and frozen cars. No frost and slightly wet. On closer inspection,  tiny snow flakes are falling occasionally.

Checked radar and its the dregs fron the NE.

Currently -5.1c which is also minimum temperature for the day. Thick frost. Cloudless blue skies. Beautiful.

Nice frosty Sunday morning down to -1c overnight. Signs of a backtrack on the cold spell on the models? For the south yes maybe but think we might stay on the cold side of things with transient snowfall risks as blocking eases late month. Lots to be resolved perhaps one of the more exhausting chases of recent years. Will be interesting to see any changes in the wording of the MO update later but think they will come tomorrow if models continue to delay & dilute the potency of any cold. Let’s see what this week brings.

A nice chilly morning here, quite a bit of cloud cover first thing, but the sun is now shining. Currently 1.4C with ground frost still in place.

It certainly is downbeat in the mod thread this morning. I'm certainly not feeling downbeat though, a week of mostly dry weather with variable amounts of sunshine looms for my location and below average temps with frost by night. I'm more than happy with that for the time being. No point obsessing with snow potential days away, chance of snow can crop up at relatively short notice once the cold is in place.

The possibility of some flurries of snow for Eastern parts of our region overnight.

Occasional tiny flurries of snow from a rogue cloud while I was out walking but that is as good as it got with most what is on offer a few miles to my south.

slippy underfoot but the positive is that the muddy lanes have frozen up a bit so it’s cleaner if nothing else.
