Ouch, that must be painful, at least we got our snow yesterday. 😁

I’ve woken up to a bit of snow on the ground, no idea from when as I was asleep for 9.

Seeing that you can see why those in the S/ SE are miffed. It’s been a 6/10 cold spell here in the NW so far most notable perhaps apart from yesterday’s snowfall  for low overnight temps if tonight is as cold as forecast. MO still going for -5/ -6c/ -7c for many inland.

Had no further snow here last night, in fact there's less lying snow than before yesterday evening.  It's slippy though, there's a thin layer of ice on the bird table, currently -1.

Stunning winter morning, clear skies with snow on the hills intact. Current temp -3 degrees. Had the mild sector not been as wide and also cleared through earlier than it did, much colder mins would have been recorded here.

I'll be watching the temp, see if we can squeeze an ice day..

-6 cold 🥶 frosty icy and foggy

High chance an ice day in Carlisle, wouldn't be surprised if temp only max -1 degrees.

Woke up to a covering rhat filled in the spaces where snow had  been disturbed.

Ali's car was frozen solid this morning.  Doors and door handles had to be gently coaxed to open.

Suns trying to shine through the high veil of cloud associated with the low 300 miles away.

Temps were still falling here also before I left for the school run.

That radar picture is gutting from a southerner point of view, but they always seem to get at least one significant snow event each winter. I’m sure they’ll get one.

I can remember-15°C in 2010.

It froze and broke our water meter.

I thawed it out with a hair dryer and water pressure returned to normal.

3 months later when we got our quarterly usage statement,  the figures were the same as the day I warmed it up.

remember everyones Combi Boilers stopped working because of the frozen drain pipes.  There were videos shared widely where you had to pour boiling water over the pipe and the boiler kicked back into life.

A touch of crunchy 'grot' on the ground this morning but nothing more, although there was also a thin layer of ice on the car. Dry but cloudy at the moment and I'm wondering what's going to happen as the day progresses. I'm hoping the 'i' word doesn't come into it as I have to go out this evening in the car.

Go to the Woolley Bridge mini roundabout, turn right and follow the road past the Howdens factory and keep going. Go past next mini roundabout and carry on until you arrive at another 4 way roundabout.  You'll see 'The Lamp' pub. Turn right and go up Station Road in Hadfield.  You'll see Lambgates on the right.

It's the long way round but avoids the steep hills.

Remarkably dry here in Wirral.  Had alot of ran/Sleet before i went to bed about 12 ish.  Was expecting an ice rink, and whilst it was icey this morning and cars were encased in ice.  The floor seems relatively dry and ice free.  Must have evaporated quickly under the dryer colder air

Brilliant!! That was the plan my partner told me to do!!

Seems feasible to take that road instead Hadfield Rd.

Thanks @Had Worse!!!
