Have seen a similar lull in the past hour things are gradually picking up again now though as a pulse of heavier rain moves through. Worst of the winds are forecast between 9pm-12midnight

Took a glance at the latest radar and what looks to be a squall line looks to be moving out of Ireland towards us.

After a relatively dry and mild day it's tipping down currently, winds at the moment feel just like a windy, gusty night, I hope I've not cursed it.  Rostherne max at 12.6°C today, pretty mild.

There was lightning on the squall line before. Could be pretty wild.

Wet out… just went for smoke whilst roast chicken resting…. Can’t hear anything outside…. Not like huge gusts when we had with snow in 2018…. Roared around the house… but that was from the east…

Lots of flooding on main roads. So far winds haven't been especially gusty.

Looking at current reports most roads in and out of Windermere are either impassable or passable with extreme care on account of flooding.
