ICON shows some wintry showers overnight, nothing massive but a few spots in the west could get lucky. These will tend to become reserved to the far SW as winds veer more northerly.

Latest models keep that low pressure for Wednesday to the south for now but still uncertainty.

Light rain here,  chilly though, think cold front arrives later today/overnight.  Not expecting anything by way of snow, maybe sleety bits.

So when is this cold spell supposed to arrive, not even a frost here, and just rain

Later today is when the cold(er) air moves in. But it's not awfully different from last Monday/Tuesday.

Some Met Office warnings in effect for the coming days mainly in the north and west:

Latest ARPEGE shows a streamer during the early hours but it's mostly rain:

Latest GFS still has the Dangler tomorrow, rain / sleet likely at first low levels, but likely snow later in the day, particularly away from immediate coast.

GFS showing some more disruptive snow showers / streamers into North Wales on Thursday.

Wednesdays low still staying south on latest runs but wouldn’t be surprised if there was some light snow or flurries further ahead of the front. Not what we want but…

Going to take a big shift to see snow mid week, can't really see it happening.

Had rain yesterday then it became brighter in the evening which led to frost and icy patches. Today looks to be fine, dry, bright and cold. Make the most of the dry weather. Back to heavy rain and gales for the weekend.

We’ve gone from a warning of something to nothing here over most of the west now.  For all the ramping of much colder conditions from Sunday, it’s become a much slower transition.  The frosts fizzled out since last Thursday. Paths are drying now too.

I’d take it over a return to wet and windy though!

So had we this morning at long last. Quite treacherous underfoot as it had fallen on wet pavements that had frozen at the same time. Hope to see some more later tonight and possibly Thursday as well before the return of the wet and windy dross.

To add too, I went for lunchtime walk last Monday and was comfortable in a down insulated jacket.

I went for a lunchtime walk today and was comfortable in a fleecy shacket (shirt jacket thing). Nowhere near as cold feeling

Absolutely glorious day here today, it feels nowhere near as cold as I thought it was going to be. Last Monday knocks spots off today temperature feel wise. Although there was a low of -4.6c this morning which is the coldest of the year so far

Ye a big shame Marc. Everything including the 850 Temps and showers have seem to downgraded closer to t+0.

MetO and most models still showing some showers moving inland tonight in the north and west on the Northwesterly, so you may see something later.

Also, more shower activity out west on Wednesday night into Thursday but given how things have panned out, we’ll see…

Severe frost on the way here tonight, -1c already in Bute Park at 6pm.

Current Temp 1c Dewpoint - 2.5c

Met has us down for a few hours of sleet. At some elevation here so expecting maybe a dusting in the morning.

Anyone else from North Wales getting interested for tonight?

Can’t say so here. Dusting of snow this morning, a few  teeny fairy  flakes this pm.  We probs too far inland.  Rather briskly brisk bracing yomp with dog by Nantyr tops this lunchtime,

I hope that storm for the weekend doesn't happen, its bad enough not getting the snow this week when it could have been so good but 80-90mph winds is pretty scary!
