The pressure chart for ISHA is unusual compared to a "normal" inbound low, where you see a progressive curve, dependent of course on the pressure drop, but ISHA seems to be in fits and starts, just looking at the pressure drop, it's almost a stepped pressure descent.

Trees down and power outages locally.

The long, calm, dry spell seems a distant memory already!

64mph gust at Soton Dockhead just now. Nothing too horrendous hereabouts yet, 25 mph gust at 3m height but I have to nearly double it for comparison with more exposed higher sites.

Gusts of 51 and 52mph, but still not as windy as January 2nd here.

The multiplier needed for your anemometer height is 1.22, but unfortunately, it's not quite as simple as that, as it would assume you're in a wide open space, with no obstructions for several hundred feet in all directions.

Yes, the main issue being surrounding houses on the estate!

Ruffling feathers with your comparisons 😂....am thinking a new website called comparethestorm.com?! Thought about posting that in the Storm Isha thread but was concerned a few wouldn't be able to handle the humour....🌬️🌬️😂

I think I'll stay in here for the rest of the evening. A few in the isha thread have ruined it.

Apparently, you're condemned if  you share thoughts/observations about weather events in your location.

Don't blame you , definitely  didn't deserve it in my opinion.  I'm staying in here too now the other one was starting to irritate me.

It has turned very wet now. I didn't notice the rain because of the wind noise. The fish can take their jackets off now the pond has warmed up. 🐟

The ice was still around the edge of our our ponds early this afternoon.

Certainly sounds extremely windy outside at the moment. Windiest it’s been since living in this house for the last 5 years.

Just heard something go crash outside. Some crazy people have put their bins out already for collection in the morning.

Sideways rain and flexing fence panels, seems the order of the night at the moment. Took the dogs to the back door for their last natural break before bed, and they would not go out, can’t say I blame them as it’s fairly rough out there at the moment.

I think the ice on mine was gone this morning. The birdbath still had some ice, as that froze all the way to the bottom. I cleared that out and put some fresh water in, and the hedgehog bowl. 🦔

Here's my soil stats over the past 5 days

Some people! Told me daughter whose nearer the coast than me to move hers into a corner well away from her car if she doesn't want it scratched or dented and to be chasing it across the street. Not that bad here though, full bins should be OK unless it gets a lot worse.

had some extreme wins here in the last 40 minutes. I think they must’ve been associated with either a squall  line or something as that was really windy. would be interesting to see the gusts for this neck of the wood for the last 40 minutes or so.

it’s tied down a little bit, but still really really windy

as I’m typing this, I just heard another intense gust

stay safe out there guys, if anyone has had to venture out

There’s also been a tremendous amount of rain, the last couple of hours as well. I’m wondering if there would be as much as 40 to 50 mm as it was quite intense for a long period of time

Yep, we've had some quite severe wind gusts too in the last hour and a lot of it associated with the heaviest rain.

Interestingly, I get the feeling that on the whole people have all but forgotten about the ridiculous water levels still around. They may have been frozen the last couple of weeks, but there is a huge amount of water out there. Based on how quickly standing water was building up on roads around here this afternoon, I suspect that flooding may rear it's head again in the coming days...
