The latest models seem to out my part of East Sussex in the sweet spot for Wednesday with the shift north of the low. Oh for it to stay that way.

We're up to a 40% snow potential in some places now. Upgrade on both the 00Z and 06Z for the SE, still unlikely north of the Kent areas in our region though but there's also the north sea showers to contend with.

Yeah they're the GEFS (so the ensembles mean) on WXCHARTS. Can't go in any further than that though. Hopefully this link takes you straight to them.  You'll notice there's a high chance tomorrow/Monday , that'd because of the north sea showers and it not really coping that well with the but the ensembles should be doing a bit better at giving you the channel one as it's a whole low pressure system.

I think there's an outbreak of confirmation bias infecting the MAD thread? :santa-emoji:

Yep as usual the models were right at day seven, things have changed a little but now the models are just as right at day seven. We'll see next weekend I guess. In the mean time cold week beckons.

I’ll take a 30% chance. Last Monday’s snow was lovely to see falling but I’d like to see a covering.

Early February 2021 was last laying snowfall here, we had falling snow periodically from 7th - 11th February and snow on the ground until 14th. Not bad for far SE (though 2010 was better)

Personally with a weekly 400 mile commute I'm not overly bothered if we don't get snow,. Beautiful if you don't have to drive a great deal in it, pain in the *** otherwise.

I drove for 3 years to work . Woolwich > North Circular > M11 > M25 > A1M > Henlow (RAF Base) in the winter I would get to work and some colleagues would call in. saying they were snowed in. My boss used to say ""but Mick has made it to work..."" they were best not pleased with me 🙂 my journey was 80 miles each way a day. learnt every single pot hole on the M25 and knew every different route between home - work and vice versa

sometimes the A1M was so bad even the hard shoulder was unsafe as the trees laden with snow were overhanging  into it. worst weather though was strong winds. saw a motor biker blown across carriageways in cross winds a few times. 😮

GFS similar to the icon maybe not quite as far north. GEM and ECM slightly further south in the channel. UKMO furthest south with the system still across northern France.

ECM/UKMO showing nothing of the sort!...well down into France (It's the GFS for God's sake!") 🙂

In the MAD thread some members are asking FRed (BFTP) if he see's heights growing into Scandinavia...might as well ask some seaweed with his track record...but as he's a 'coldie' he'll be telling us to batten down the hatches due to incoming blizzards in February.
