Yip, groundhog day again. Heavy rain over night and then light drizzle walking the dog this morning. It's trying to brighten up, but more rain is on the way.

If United Utilities declare a drought order and hosepipe bans this summer, there is something seriously wrong!

That will be more of a reflection on them than the weather. Their infrastructure tends to leak at the seams quite badly.

It ended up another fairly miserable day yesterday. Somewhat brghter skies this morning with occasional glimpses of sun so far, hopeful for a drier day today.

This weekends ‘warmer’ weather 16-18c is likely to be tempered by the strength of the wind 💨  particularly on Saturday. Will be nice to squeeze something properly Spring like out of April, weather doesn’t look like playing ball just yet.

Murky and mizzly drizzly, clouds down on fells.  But birds noisy and more active  today.  Maybe they know of better weather coming.  7.3C at present.

Not to bad from the off here with lengthy spells of sunshine a bit more cloud now but importantly it’s stayed dry 😂

Scuba steve Yes a fine day here so far, bright rather than sunny, but dry at least. Current temp a pleasant 11.7 degrees.

Not enthused by the prospect of a strong / near gale force wind even if it is a mild one, any strong wind makes for unpleasant uncomfortable feeling.

A bit of a shower at work this afternoon but dry other than with a bit of sunshine at times so with the weather bar set so low, not a bad day in the end.

got an overnight in Blackpool at the weekend so hopefully it will coincide with the high winds and some serious high wave watching, something I haven’t witnessed for many years.

just need the rain to keep away.

Rather warm humid feeling day after overnight rain/showers… car registered 17c in Ashton-Under-Lyne in the sun ☀️ at lunchtime… think it was more likely 14-15c max today…

just making fish n chips for my tea… hubby making seafood and spinach curry with jalfrezi sauce we made last week…

rain just started and hills shrouded in cloud now… had long tailed tits two days in a row getting bugs out of window frames outside…

Under the radar is the snow warning for higher parts east Scotland tomorrow, nothing too untoward for early April, but modest levels could see a lot, 200m plus. There is a tussle between cold polar air and tropical maritime air, the added warmth from the SSTs probably fuelling the  pressure gradient next 24 hrs and therefore enables a deep low to form, we perhaps in other times would have had a snow event here with the low further south and less deeper. The propensity for cold NE winds to dig far into N Atlantic has been a theme of recent months, the affect though is to lead to low pressure to our SW cutting off any cold air supply.

It wasn't too bad here for the bulk of today, quite a bit of cloud cover but plenty of sunny breaks. Stayed dry until late afternoon, but some outbreaks of rain since with a damp end to the day.

Poured down at 4pm and then on and off until about 6pm. And more rain expected to move up from the south overnight. Hopefully it will move away from the area by daybreak or soon after as I have outdoor plans for tomorrow.

Dry until this evening.  Overnight rain useful as it will help to water in the last few transplants moved into the field hedges today.   But fields are so wet still.  Surely we are due a dry spell.
