I will when I'm done. Building the retaining wall that will but up to the slope.

The neighbours have had a lovely wall and steps built for them, but it cost $$$$. We're going sleepers and doing it ourselves to save a few bob.

*Stormforce~beka* any colour as long as it's black, with mine!

Bit peeved that the sheet on the line is as damp as when I put it out. But at least it doesn't smell of elderly cat any more....

*Stormforce~beka* I have had washing out every day this week.

If it comes in drier at 16.00 than when putting it out at 07.30 then that’s a healthy win! 3 days it’s been totally dry.

Today less sun is meaning some will not be completely dry but still a win!

Andy Bown not long though before you can get a wash out first thing before you go to work, bring it in when you get in, and then get a second lot on the line before bedtime!

Andy Bown My problem is that my garden is north facing and it's sheltered so no real sun!

jy Too right they are! Gotta make sure the job is done properly ... Love you x

TammasinWhiskers we had the absolute laundry dream down your way in August 2022.

Rented a cottage in the middle of nowhere and every days wash was put out at 21.00 at dusk and was dry by the morning!

*Stormforce~beka*  hanging washing outside is my happy place! Bugger that you’re North facing, we are very lucky in that respect!

Andy Bown I get all my curtains, towels and blankets washed and put away the first few weeks of real summer. Love it.

I feel like Home Front Heroine now but I think there's a sort of musty smell about your winter curtains after they've been up all over Christmas and the cold months, they need a good blow!

If doing washing and ironing were made illegal who would break the law

TammasinWhiskers First 25c and I'm washing everything like a mad man! Curtains, duvets, coats, blankets the lot!

jy I would break the law on the washing but I'm happy with ironing being illegal!!!

 *Stormforce~beka* I hear ya, sister!

I don't iron ANYTHING - even tablecloths, they go out on the line damp for a good blow. Er. I'm starting to feel a bit embarrassed now at having tablecloths and winter curtains....

Turned out sunnier than expected today. Second time that's happened lately here, not that I'm complaining 😆

And again today.

*Stormforce~beka* Given the right conditions yes. Best of course is sunshine, bit of breeze and low humidity. The latter plays a big part on a cold but sunny day. It can be surprising just how quickly washing will dry given dry air even if the temp is only a few degrees.

Generally it takes a lot longer in the winter as you’d expect and you need to finish drying in the house in the evening.

Another cloudy, dull, dreary, grey & damp start to the day.  Not expecting much change as the day progresses here.

Taking the dog to a secure paddock for some exercise at Bradford on Avon this morning, would be so much better and energising to have some sun shining down on us whilst stood in a glorified field.

Hoping end of next weeks “cool spell” (which actually just looks like a return to more average, typical February conditions) heralds an increase in increasingly warm sunshine after some frosty mornings, & a demise of repeatedly cloudy, dreary crap.
