Managed another hour digging this evening, after work. It was decent enough.

Didn't bother last night, as the cold wind was horrible.

Cloudfest this morning, with rain on the way.

Tomorrow, rain all day. Delightful. 😒

Morning All, a drizzly start to the day in preparation for the inbound rain. The overnight low of 5.2°C at: 05:13 is much higher than the past few days, currently 8.6°C, RH97% with light air movement from the W.

From Above, yup, its cloudy

Miserable day again. The Met Office promised a bit of sun but it never happened.

DO we REALLY have to suffer another wet day in Feb 2024(OK so I missed some of it), it's a naff ol' evening out there, earlier the mist came down , and then more rain, more drizzle, wife is complaining  of the cold damp weather. Can we LEAP forward to March and a fresh season.

Don’t worry, we will soon be finished with our wet February days.  They will be no more.

Instead, we will get to experience some wet, March days.

Ah well, at least good riddance to a mild and wet winter 2023 / 2024, and thank goodness we took everything that was thrown at us about association of typical events tied in with an El Nino winter in the UK, and all the hype about the winter being back end loaded for colder weather. Just goes to show we have a looooong way to go with seasonal forecasting yet.

Dorsetbred crazy to think that the coldest I felt was on the 1st/2nd December… ( the January spell fell perfectly during the time I was abroad ) so I’ve essentially not experienced a winter this year. Just a perma autumn. Good riddance to it!

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics

General perception from many is that April was a cold month, but statistics would suggest otherwise, with the average temperature for the whole month coming in just above the 30 year average for the UK as a whole.
