  1. It's a rather cold spell...lot of people in the west/South west at lower levels haven't seen ANY snow from this "spell". For a lot of us it's not going to stay in the memory very long.Seen better in October and March...just calling it as im seeing it.
  2. My nine year old son has just asked me "when does the cold spell start?" That just says it all......
  3. 3cm would be a miracle right now...trouble is there is so much waterlogging that it couldn't settle!
  4. This current spell reminds me of the "wintry" weather that sometimes occurs in April...cold but not cold enough to deliver...and what snow does fall to lower levels is half melted gloop. Certainly not what I'd expect from a January (hype) "screaming northerly" arf!
  5. I've had it up to here with this overhyped so called cold spell. Yes it's cold when you are exposed to the wind, but that is a given isn't it? Out of the wind?....nope, known worse. Now turning to the weather that this spell is delivering.....frosts? Nope. Snow? Ha. What we have had is rain and sleet ... Oh and a short spell last night of the equivalent of what you'd find in a pre flavoured slush puppy container...soaking wet, transparent sloppy muck that once in its existence would have been fluffy white snow. Yuk! Seeing all the postings from over the border talking about the snow they've had, then moaning because it's starting to melt! Sod off...at least you've had some!!! What do I see looking out my window? Green grass which is now becoming waterlogged in places, as are the neighbouring farmers fields! Call this a cold spell? Shove it....it's rubbish.
  6. Outside temperature was at 0.8c - sounds ok doesnt it? But the dew point was +0.7c = very wet slushy rubbish. After missing out last night, this is all the more gutting.
  7. Places with elevation probably did well...down here sadly, a slushy sloppy horrible mess.
  8. Not confident at all. Bet a pound to a penny we will start to hear words in association with this possible event such as "marginal" If that happens we might as well pack up and go home on this frankly disappointing spell.
  9. Those who've had snow shouldn't gripe too much....after all they have had some. It's those of us who've so far had Jack who have griping priveleges.
  10. Another fail on a day of fail. Move on.
  11. Night...that orange glow in the sky...and the snow itself on the ground with that orange look to it.
  12. Thought you lot in Sin Tellens classed yourselves as Lancashire :-)
  13. Slams the dee and mersey estuary? You should have said SLAMS the dee and Mersey estuary. You'll never get a job at the daily express without paying attention to detail to what you write you know. Got to sound more......dramatic...armagheddony.Or are you trying to stop people from claiming that you are Nathan Rao and claiming their fiver? :-)
  14. North East Wales lower levels got nowt either...you're not alone.
  15. Grew up in Coedpoeth....just makes it worse!! When it snows up there it can really snow! Not quite as much as the likes of Gwynfryn but I never had any complaints back then.
  16. That I can buy into. Now you mention it, the rain/sleety/sloppy snow mix was moderate intensity in truth. Things just too marginal, precipitation not heavy enough for evaporative cooling to come into play.
  17. Gwersyllt about a mile or so from the town centre.
  18. Am curious to understand why snow is falling and settling at modest elevation in parts of North West England, yet here we've had rain/sleet and am at higher up than some places with lying snow? (Chester Zoo, Liverpool, Manchester) Wrong wind direction? Rogue warmer uppers?
  19. Chester sodding zoo has even got lying snow and that's a lower level than here! What have we got? Green green (wet) grass and sleety rain! Sod it off...it can get to soddery!Give us some sunshine...better than this lousy cold grot.
  20. Pfft! Believe it when I see it!
  21. Any got a tumbleweed picture we can use for this thread?
  22. Nothing here either..seems to be that once you get to North Wales, elevation is needed for snow to fall...else it's a sloppy sleety wet mess.
  23. It's raining here...don't get your hopes up too much!
