  1. Cloudy with rain on and off. Humid but temperatures well down on yesterday's 28c. Currently 18.2c
  2. Judging by the radar you are going to get some pretty intense rainfall, and for quite a while. Localised flooding definitely will be an issue.
  3. Got a clear sight of it to the east of here...decent anvil.
  4. 3 strikes E of me just over the Cheshire border...downpour developed very quickly indeed. Very dark in that direction.
  5. Now now...don't be like that. You get outside and under them there grey wet and windy skies and like it!It's July dontcha know. What else were you expecting? Sunshine?
  6. After last "winter" you might be on your own wishing for that!
  7. Reminds me in a way of a squall line on the radar...intense echoes on the leading edge, followed by a short period of moderate rain. Lightning activity looks pretty much confined to Norfolk now.
  8. It's nice here Gordon...err that is if grey leaden gloomy skies, light rain/drizzle and a cool feel is your bag.By the way Bedworth is currently showing 0% storm risk for today.
  9. Such is the nature of showers, as is so often said, some will get them, some won't. Oh and by the way Crepuscular Ray, to take a word from your last post but one..."onslaught"?????? Really? I'm on to you. Although you neglected to mention "human sacrifices...dogs and cats living together...mass hysteria" you have just about provided enough evidence for me to state that: You are Nathan Rao and I claim my five pounds.
  10. If they affect you as much anxiety wise as appears to be the case here, might I suggest that you sit in your car while any storms are going on should you be at home. No safer place to be than in your car unless someone can put me right here on this.
  11. Lincolnshire has an invisible physical link with the near continent. The residents of Lincolnshire have known of this link for years but they don't want the rest of the UK knowing about it. This link is the reason why they get so many storms.
  12. Non electrical downpour just shot through here. Temp dropped to 13.6c Warm and humid it ain't!
  13. This post is for our brontophobe Gordon Webb. I was like you once, used to freak out when storms broke out, breaking out into cold sweat, rapid heartbeat, hyperventilating you name it I'd experience it. Origins of this phobia probably came about from picking up my dear old mum's (no longer with us) fear of them. My dad told me she was beside herself during the July 1968 monster storms, and me being just 3 years old at the time, must have impacted on me. Anyway, my cure for this phobia came in September 1984, a week in Northern France which was the most thundery week I've ever known. At least 5 out of the 7 days and nights we were hit by big thunderstorms, first day/spooked me as usual. Second day I went outside and stood outside (safe place) to experience it head on. By the end of that week, I still got the adrenaline rush from thundery weather but a positive one. Might work for you?
  14. Can't say I feel envious of those in the level 3 estofex zone, especially when they use words like very dangerous set up etc. don't get me wrong, I like a good storm as much as most in here, (wasn't always the case but that's another story) but once it starts going into the realms of extreme...very large hail, tornadoes..not for me ta. People in France and Belgium will be having major sleep deprivation issues right now that's for sure!
  15. You'll end up on the day with 2.5j/kg and +8 LI. Meanwhile, some hamlet in Belgium or The Netherlands will be getting the fruits of your 2500j/kg cape and -8 LI.
  16. Power shower passed through here, according to raintoday, rainfall rates exceeded 50mm per hour.
  17. Just saw the tail end of Nick Miller's forecast on BBC News Channel. Week ahead Rain at times (especially further east) Breezy Feeling cool Not very inspiring!
  18. Yep...the novelty has well and truly worn off now. Seen enough heavy rain already these past couple of days. Enough to start fields waterlogging again. Unless we have anything like a dryish summer, flooding could very quickly become an issue again this autumn.
  19. Misty and quite cold last night..temp was 4.6c at 2am. Now it's another grey start to the day, becoming a familiar and unwelcome sight this is!
  20. Can you give a bit of a more detailed description? Seen nowt but cloud of differing degrees of greyness and rain for a couple of days now.
  21. Local fields around me beginning to adopt their winter 2013/14 look again...waterlogged! The next grass cut won't be anytime soon without some dry warm weather.
  22. Friday a wet washout. Saturday going the same mucky way. Yuk. Sun would be more than welcome after 2 grotty days.
