    In the reliable timeframe its going to be less cold and unsettled. Nothing particulary mild nor cold. Day 10+ charts pretty much change with every run regardless of what model it is. I thought you might have noticed that as it is basic common sense when viewing models. A trend isn't 1 chart over 1 run on the last frame.

    It's a anonomly chart. It means there is a chance of pressure being higher there than surrounding areas. It doesn't necessarily signal blocking and easterly winds.

    Cold for the time of year yes, but looking pretty dull for "weather on the ground". looks pretty benign for the foreseeable. Neither very cold nor mild, pretty much stuck in a rut, not a very exciting rut either.

    We shall enjoy this weekend then, as it''s not going to be very cold with temps 6c countrywide on Easter Sunday. will feel really quite pleasant in any sun. No extreme cold looks like coming back for the time being. Even this morning the frost had nearly all melted by 8am and the sun was really quite warming on your back :-)

    I find it hard to believe that April will be even colder than March. You forget we are heading towards summer not Autumn heading into winter. With the sun strengthening and the days getting longer the odds are well stacked against it.

    Yes it is sad when people and animals die in extreme weather, this will never change but that I am afraid is life and there is nothing no-one can do about it. I enjoy extreme weather, the more extreme the better and I quite frankly couldn't give a monkeys what other people think :-).

    Cold enough for snow?. For high altitude maybe but for the rest of us?. Don't see the point of having a cold April if it's not going to snow. a bit like being in no mans land. we might aswell have warmth.

    According to 00Z ECM South Oxfordshire can expect between 8 - 17 cms of snow Friday night into Saturday. I shall believe it when i see it.

    The dozens of failed Easterlies, failed Northerlies, failed blizzards, failed record breaking low temps, failed we are all going to be "buried" under snow. The list goes on and on lol.

    Yes true, 5 charts plus maybe a few more in five years or so. I would imagine the actual failures of amazing synoptic's to turn themselves into real weather is probably in 3 digits.
