Look at that Dublin snow shield sticking to it's guns! Little boll**

Nasty looking storm on the way for Thursday/Friday by the looks of things.

That is one wild day. Made a huge mistake of wearing shorts to my son's game this morning.... Still haven't warmed up.

Took a week off model watching due to the insane boredom of the charts and looked back today... Fingers crossed folks!

For those new to the chase for cold on the MOD thread. Now is a good time to take a break from the models. Step away for a couple of days, go outside, enjoy the crisp evenings and in a few days time, come back and at least the monotony of the current output will have changed (hopefully). I do this every year and find it quite refreshing.

Rochey, you should know not trust any GFS by now. It's garbage.
The outlook remains pretty bleak with no Northerly blocking on offer.
In fairness, I didn't trust it alone, but the Gem was showing something similar at the time, and you could see hw the ECM could revert to it at the time too... But yes, you are right! It's garbage!

Some hope showing after the 12z GFS just rolled out for a bitter northerly in 7 days time... Fingers crossed folks!

Turning sleety here now, the temp just dipping below 4C. Feeling well below freezing in the wind
Funny that, feels quite mild even in the strong breeze up here. Was just up on the roof taking down the lights after Christmas and I was just in a tee shirt* and didn’t notice cold at all.
*Obviously had pants on too!

Great photos lads! Thank you. Had a good snow shower this morning but nothing stuck sadly. Still, nice watching falling snow!

A very heavy sleet shower earlier here, felt a bit like a squal line coming through but couldn't verify on radar.

Looks that way Big Lad. Miserable wet Christmas coming up.
Well, on that low point.....
May I take this opportunity to wish you all here in the (compared to the MOD) very sane Ireland thread, a very happy, peaceful and safe Christmas. As it happens, I'm working every day from the 25th to the 28th and then from the 31st to the 2nd, so I was feeling a bit HUMBUG. Last night a good pal sent me a music video which lifted the spirits incredibly. Suddenly I felt festive!!! So I hope you all have a special and indeed, joyous (if possible) Christmas. Best wishes for a bit of snow for us all over the coming months!- 1

ECM and Icon now agreeing. Very strange to see such a big divergence at such short time. Hard to see ECM being wrong at this range though. Mad few days model watching.

So how are we looking for Christmas/boxing day snow? The model thread has thrown its toys out of the pram
The models are all over the place over the last few days and no consistency yet, but there is still chances of Christmas and Stephen's day being cold and some wintery showers. We'll know more in about a half hour as the ECM is rolling out now.

Is it time for me to mention #DublinSnowShield yet?

Well @ronan if we have 4 feet deep snow fields covering the island, you can have your HP sink down over us and keep it all wintery!

All school in the south are now closed for tomorrow as Met E are saying the red warning area will likely increase and not decrease. Glad I'm off tomorrow!

A little bit continental out there today....

Feel like I'm talking to myself in here lately!!! A squall line passed through earlier today, temperature went from 10.0 down to 3.5 degrees in about 5 minutes, and in the heaviest fall, there was snow and hail in the mix. It's wild out there now!
ECHO echo echo echo echo....

The difference 150 miles makes. Here in Dublin last week we had a bit of wet snow for a half hour. Nothing stuck, even in the heaviest downpours. Another snowless winter for us. I'm well used to it now though. Great pics people, thanks for sharing!
