  1. Not trying to raise a separate discussion here, but they also often overcook them, can I ask why you think there will be more than suggested?
  2. A stunning clear, and very chilly day, with beautiful blue unblemished skies! It says 5.9 deg on the weather station… But it feels a lot less.
  3. A muffled celebratory YAY this morning. A light dusting, but easily the most wintery my neighbourhood has looked since 2010. Nothing else showing on the radar, so I guess it will all be thawed by noon or earlier.
  4. After a greyish evening, the skies are beautifully clear and crisp. Still with the odd wisp in the wind and now 0.4 after a high of 4.4 Hopefully this trough can give us on this side a little wintery fare in the morning...
  5. Same as me dude. The snowless east coast since 2010! :-( Still, I love this cold seasonal weather… Any excuse for a hot whiskey… Just think how big an excuse I'd have if it snowed!!!
  6. And still nowt here! Hope you're all enjoying it... And yes, I am mad jealous!
  7. Thoroughly doubt they will flip back again, as much as I want them to. Sadly! It would be one of the greatest model flips of eternity if it did occur. Even the professionals were very surprised by this late spread of options.
  8. Indeed it is, but that is showing a very slack flow, no precipitation really, but damned cold. And also, it's also going only one way after that… Sadly!
  9. Please stop, the little nuances on the microscale do nothing for the overall pic! Please wait until at least 96/120 before judging!Sorry, but this just grinds my gears!
  10. Rained here... Still bitterly cold mind you!!!
  11. Just heavy rain here sadly! Good night. We shall wake in the morning to beautiful model runs...
  12. Jeez…. Let me try this then... Not only will the models show an Omega block for day 10 and onwards, locking us into a deep cold pattern with widespread snow for weeks, but myself and my family will each inherit 1.5 million euro from a long lost uncle, we never knew existed, and on Friday, I will win the euro millions... :-)
  13. Spot on lads. The snow on Mon/Tue is the moisture off the Atlantic (in an arctic sourced, cold low) bumping into cold air above (and below in fairness) and should result in a decent snowfall for us here on the east, however, it's still not set and a shift of hundred miles or so either way could scupper our chances. I'd say the 12z runs on Sunday will give us a more or less final answer. Thereafter, the winds are looking like coming from continental Europe from the NE-ish direction, this keeping us in a cold flow, with possible streamers off the Irish sea, topping up any snow we may already have. In my locality, if it happens, will be the first snowfall of any consequence at all since 2010. I had my first flakes since 2010 only 4 days ago!!! Anyway, I see on the model thread the toys are getting chucked out again. For me, this will be a minimum 5/6 day cold spell, starting tomorrow, and beyond that is just lala stuff. It could swing back with a massive NEly tonight, and while I'd like to see that, it still probably won't happen!!! Enjoy what you get folks… I'm positively salivating!
  14. As far as I remember, Met É extended the warning until tea time today for your area and it was Orange status??
  15. The only downsides to these EPIC charts this night are: A) the daily express will be correct for once B) there's not much room for upgrades, only downgrades... Unless they stay the same?? Anyway, there will be changes in the mornings runs, hopefully very subtle, and not enough to take this beautiful evolving pattern away from us. Fingers crossed.
  16. That squall line just finished passing through now, had a really strong gust that went off the scale on my weather station (that usually happens above 70mph, but doubt that's what it was…. Had a mix of hail and heavy rain, and the temp has dropped to 7 from a high of 10.3 (I think) about an hour ago.
  17. It is absolutely howling here right now. There will be a lot of storm damage by daylight. Pressure 972hPa right now, gust of 75kph recorded on my less than trusty station… It does truly sound and feel a lot stronger than that
  18. Probably not an error at all, I've been dreading this storm for some time, and not surprised to see MetE putting it as a red alert.
  19. Cold tomorrow morning turning mild and stormy tomorrow afternoon through to Thursday night, cooling down again and getting cold Friday into Saturday onwards.
  20. I have seen my first fall of snow since 2010 imby. Wasn't up to much, about 15 mins of sleet to graupel, to proper flakes, back to graupel and now it's stopped. Some settled on the grass and rooftops, temp now at 0.6 from a high of 4.2 an hour ago! That's scratched an itch for me!
  21. Looking promising that some of the showers are keeping their course for MBY now… Hopefully within the hour... I will of course, keep the champagne on ice! But I can see a bank of clouds to my west/south west. Whether it snows or not is the 6 million dollar question!
  22. The Dublin border appears to be holding the snow shield up looking at the radar!!! Anyway, Met have their hands full today and tomorrow: http://www.met.ie/nationalwarnings/default.asp
  23. Indeed folks, get out and enjoy… But can you do me a favour, will yis all head outdoors there and start blowing the clouds over to us on the east?? Still clear blue skies here!
  24. Meanwhile in Dublin, operation snow shield in full effect! Bitterly cold in a stiff breeze and 3.5 degrees! **edit, no idea why the pic is sideways**
  25. Enfield is probably 20 miles as the crow flies away from me, and I have blue skies!!! Destined to be snow free!!!
