  1. I'm told they stick to the old regime that they will only forecast up to 10 days in advance... But my source is not that good!
  2. It was 17 degrees today, beautifully unseasonal! Plenty for the fire brigades to do tonight with no rain!!!
  3. Indeed Pom, it was 16 degrees yesterday here, incredible for this time of year, and I haven't used the tumble dryer or heating yet this Autumn!!! :-)
  4. Like you all, been really enjoying the clear skies and relative warmth! Pity it has to end soon. Here's to 4 weeks of Autumnal stuff, and then deep deep cold for 8 weeks please! Cheers mother Nature!
  5. Well I was well and truly soaked to the bone on Sunday standing on Hill 16, I looked at the forecast and it was for light showers, these were the thunderiest light showers I ever witnessed! Still hanging from the celebrations!!!
  6. Still bright and light skies overhead here. Looking at the radar, it will be here before tea time... Slowly edging eastwards. There is some intensity in the rain in the SW.
  7. Enjoy the nice weather, autumn looks like it's introducing itself this weekend...
  8. I hear ya brother! Cycling home from work tonight, after a very pleasant day, and the heavens opened with a thundery downpour of biblical proportions... Drenched! Squelched my way home after that! Hopes for Autumn? A respite from this 5h1t3 would be lovely!
  9. June was a good month down here, and I had a lovely few dry warm days in in Down in early July too, but since then, it's been a complete washout! The last few days have been cool, grey and very wet!
  10. apologies, it's hard to just discuss models when the mighty return! I'll behave in future!Interesting to hear GP thoughts on GFS not handling this transition very well and as JH was saying, nothing showing up (yet) on the anomaly charts to suggest high pressure returning in the medium to long term. As always, more runs needed!
  11. Spent 10 days (2nd to 12th) in a caravan up your neck of the woods overlooking Carlingford lough, and bar about 2 days, the weather was brilliant. The kids even got sunburned a couple of days.... She still won't let me forget it!!!Our vantage point did seem to show us in a sun trap of sorts, as all around us appeared to be in a shroud of dark dark cloud with high tops!!!
  12. The best bit of news on the MOD threads since the GH OF 2009 and 2010... The return of the mighty Stuart! Welcome back GP
  13. Over 1.5mm rain fell last night! That's badly needed and at least it fell when we were all in bed. Some nice weather to look forward to also. Decent summer so far!
  14. Stunning day today. Just stunning. 20.2 degrees so far, feels a lot more...
  15. Muggy-Shmuggy! GIve me cloudless skies this time of year, warm days, and cool nights!
  16. Indeed. And great to see such huge activity in here, and it not being a winter month! Bravo NW peeps!!! As for this upcoming spell, I see the miss-mash of outputs from the NWP in the medium term as less encouraging, but still, when it's not nailed on, it's not nailed on. There's always flip flops in them, so why take anything as gospel?
  17. Grand "muggy" evening tonight. Even managed a family BBQ today. Shame the football team didn't chip in with the same spirit of happiness!
  18. He'll be here tomorrow, the exams are starting!!!
  19. Put the heating on here, first time since near Paddys day! Shocking!
  20. Some ridiculous bursts of rain and hail yesterday and the day before with some massive cloud towers, today, barely a drop of drizzle all day, lovely and mild with some sunny spells. Could live with this weather... Just perfect for everything!
  21. And now we do... :-) The folly of believing charts!!! :-) Unless it's happening outside my window, I don't believe it (Victor Meldrew)!
  22. What a gorgeous day out there today, barely a wisp of wind, beautiful blue skies and barely any cloud, and what cloud exists, is way up there in the stratosphere, like horses tails!
  23. And all too common this time of year sadly! all to do with the weakening vortex!!!
