2 glorious 'summery' days on the trot, with yesterdays 17 degrees topped by todays 17.5 in my back garden. Wonderful weather… Thankfully they haven't started metering the water yet, I've filled up the youngfella's swimming pool yesterday!!!
Hopefully this weekend is just a blip, as it looks like it might be! Some great growth in the gardens now too...
:-)
I'm a weather and a mother nature freak/enthusiast...
So for me, the year has been a complete nope - still swearingi* disaster!!!
No ground snow (since '10): check
No aurora borealis: check
Cloudy on eclipse day: check
Hopefully the benign east coast misery ends soon. A roasting and clear summer would make amends! :-)
A few flakes on the ground here this morning, not even a covering. We really are the poor relations on the east coast since 2010. Not one bit of lying snow since then.
Had a heavy graupel shower that lasted about 5 mins, turned the grass white(ish) but the sun is out again now and it's pretty much all melted! The kids wanted to go make a snowman… The disappointed faces on them now is unbearable!
At home today and it was 8 degrees, but we were out in the afternoon, north of Ashbourne for a few hours, the temp dropped, and it belted snow for about 10 mins… Was lovely to see!
Back home now, and it's 5 degrees, but feeling raw in the wind.
Just after I posted this ^^^ It started… And hasn't stopped!!! Fire is lit, and I'm dry and toasty...
Oh… And the cricket! It's the heartbeat of the nation!!!
A few small streamers starting to pep up out in the Irish sea as the wind goes to a N/NE direction. this is my best hope for wintery precip. Nothing forecast by MetE, but I'll be watching this closely...
This is almost hillarious… Look at how the precipitation dries up as it hits the Dublin border… What a crap winter we've had compared to the rest of the country!
