  1. Another glorious day here, hot & sunny, made the most of it knowing the change to more unsettled weather is on the way. On another note I've just seen someone in the mod thread pretty much write off the rest of summer in terms of having another hot spell like we've just been experiencing in large parts of the county, I swear some people will never learn, I mean some were writing off the rest of June earlier this month when the long range models were showing no sign of summer weather returning & look at the hot spell many have been experiencing for nearly a week! No another hot spell isn't guaranteed but it's still very foolish to write off the chances when it's only the 21st of June.
  2. Checking on wundermap for weather stations in the Worle area and I've found a few with temp readings between 32-33c, one station has 35c but 32-33c I can so believe as it's very hot out there! 2 weather stations nearer to town and the sea front are reading 28c, possibly due to the sea breeze which would effect the town area and right on the coast but probably has no effect on temps a few miles inland from the coast.
  3. So highs of around 17 by the end of this week and the weekend, what utter rubbish temps for summer, roll on the next heatwave that's all I can say! Temps forecast to be 25c here tonight at 10pm and not dropping much over night, so nice being out in the garden late at night in shorts and it still feels very warm, sleeping not a problem with the fan blowing. Hoping we see some storms around these parts Wednesday night too.
  4. You'll be wasting your time gloating, in the summer I like hot weather and in the winter I like cold weather so gloat away if you like but it won't bother me one bit! As for this current hot spell, long may it continue and hopefully we'll be seeing more hot spells through the rest of summer. The weather over this weekend was awesome, just perfect for the 2 day airshow here, and I swear I saw someone in this thread say summer was a useless season lol. I'd call winter a useless season personally, not much you can do for months unless you want to go out and get soaked with frequent wind & rain, can't stand windy weather myself so last autumn & early winter made a nice change from the usual wind & rain dross we have to put up.
  5. I love this heat, as long as I have a fan blowing on me! Only downside to the hot weather is if I want to get out & cover my 7 mile exercise route then I gotta be up and out by 5am otherwise it's just too hot and that heat just zaps all the energy out of ne as I just found out this morning.
  6. What perfect timing to have great weather, it's the airshow weekend here in Weston.
  7. Easy, I leave my fan running on sleep timer, made sleeping in the recent hot & humid spell no problem at all & I hope the summer months ahead have plenty of hot & humid spells to come, that's what I would call bliss, also hoping for more awesome thunderstorms like we had the other day.
  8. Yes it's been a while since I've seen a weather show like that over Weston, hoping for many more hot spells through the summer followed by breakdowns like we saw last night. My only complaint, I'd rather have the storms in the evening as nothing beats sitting out in the garden on a hot & humid late evening watching menacing clouds rolling in with distant rumbles & lightning slowly getting closer, can remember many a time like that in the 90s.
  9. Still an awesome light show going on here with frequent rumbles and heavy rain.
  10. Rain stopped now but what a bloody lightning show, flashes nearly every second or two!
  11. Thunder & lightning galore to my south /south east, rain started a few minutes ago.
  12. Thundery shower passing just to the west of me, shame it didn't pass directly over, heard a couple of loud ish rumbles of thunder.
  13. Hate this bloody weather, can't stand windy days like this, can't wait for the winds to die down. Also been checking some of the photos being posted in the Scotland regional thread, jammy sods but then it'll be gone tomorrow anyway.
  14. Turned sleety a while ago, just drizzle now, still was nice to finally see some snow grains earlier. 1.5c according to the car readout, I hate cold rain, I'd rather have mild rain lol
  15. At last the weather gods have blessed me snowing outside, very light though.
  16. Looks like the weather gods don't like me, not even had a flake blowing in the wind as of yet.
  17. Consider yourself lucky, at least you have snow flurries lol, wouldn't mind seeing some flurries sure, it's certainly cold enough!
  18. Nothing wrong with that chart, dew points below zero, probably have no precipitation around these parts though.
  19. I see there was another maintenance update this morning , the issue I mentioned in my post above isn't fixed though, just thought I'd mention that in case a patch was put in {in which case the patch hasn't worked)
  20. I wonder what gibby thinks of the models now considering he posted in the mod thread a few days ago stating he fully expected the jet to ride over the top pushing low pressure over and sinking the high and bathing the uk in mild south westerly winds. Must admit I did find that statement odd at the time as it went against all the background signals, we're in a much better position now than we were back when some nice charts were showing in late November for December which all but imploded as we know. Unless he was just concentrating on the ECM which has been woeful in handling the high pressure over Scandinavia and has made a big move towards the other big models in the shorter term this morning, yes it still sinks the high in the lated outputs but none of the other big guns do and as nick Sussex said in the mod thread the sinking high scenario goes against all the background signals. Anyway we shall see but things are looking up at the moment.
  21. Browsing this forum on a mobile device is a little messed up when clicking on the notification that pops up to alert you of new posts, until recently (think it was the last maintenance update) when I clicked on the notification the new posts would appear right below where I am on the page and I could continue viewing the new posts but now when I click on the notification after a few seconds I get thrown to the top of the page I'm viewing, few seconds later I'm then thrown to the end of the page and depending on how many new posts there are I have to go back up the page hunting to find the post I was on when I initially clicked the new post notification. Hopefully this can be fixed as it's a right pain at times like the present when the model thread is flowing quickly due to the incoming cold weather
  22. So much rubbish appearing in the mod thread right now from the likes of CreweCold saying lowland areas can't get meaningful snowfall late Feb into march. Can't remember the year but the date I do as it was April 9th the day after my birthday, woke up that morning to find a fair few inches of lying snow on the ground oh and i live at sea level in the south 3 miles from the coast! Really does get on my nerves every year at this time of the winter with the same usual suspects keeping on about how time is running out for decent snowfall with it lying, especially in the south. I don't worry about sun strength or time running out until well into march & as I've witnessed, early April can still deliver the goods to lowland areas in the south, not that I particularly want cold weather in april mind, would prefer spring warmth by then.
  23. One thing I noticed this afternoon, rain showers have no trouble making it across wales and hitting here, curious that, if it was still cold enough for snow that shower would have diverted around my location lol
