Come on this winter has been much much better than the last few. Where are the days on end of constant temperatures into the teens? Maybe one or two in December, but that’s all this year. There has also been more snow this winter, at least here since 14-15.
Sunday morning has the potential to be very good. The colder 850s don’t get mixed out as quick now. Still looks like an inversion layer above the surface for a time so maybe ice pellets might be something to watch out for after starting as snow perhaps.
Big upgrade in wording for Sunday.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Sunday will bring more snow, particularly over higher ground, turning to rain. Monday will be drier and brighter, but patchy rain will return on Tuesday, becoming windy and milder.
Some instability for a short time between about 6:00 and 9:00 tomorrow morning so there should be some good showers around then. The coldest 850s have been delayed somewhat and now occur in the afternoon with -8s around for a time.
Just a note: if you are within 25 miles from the coast tonight; clearing skies will not drop the temperature, in fact it will probably have the opposite effect.
I think the wind is still too strong for anything on the coastal plane. I expect the snow-line to move west through the evening, but it will probably be the old east of the M6 rule overnight.
