    Probably already posted but...upgrade This Evening and Tonight: Cold and windy weather will continue this evening with some wintry showers, particularly over the hills. Rain will arrive later in the evening, with some snow to lower levels. Gales and severe gales over exposed coasts and hills overnight. Minimum temperature -3 °C.

    Yes it was. See my post the other day about the two problems with the set up. The strong wind increase the modification from the sea and negated the effects of evaporative cooling. It also allowed showers less time to develop before hitting land.

    We have about 3 hours of heavy precipitation before the wind beers on shore again and 850s go positive. Winds fall quite light so evaporative cooling will drop the temperature surprisingly quickly under heavy precipitation. I would say there is a moderate chance, about 60% of seeing some very transient snow anywhere this evening.

    I like this. Outlook for Friday to Sunday: Cold with wintry showers on Friday, locally heavy and thundery. A frosty start on Saturday, but mostly fine and sunny. Slowly turning milder on Sunday with rain preceded by snow.

    Well last night went even worse than I was expecting, and my expectations were very low. There just wasn’t enough precipitation around. Don’t think I even had much hail yesterday apart from a few bits. Very strange day. The only thing I will remember from yesterday is the wind which was incredibly strong. .

    To be honest, I don’t know anymore. Just depends on what showers we catch over night. Tomorrow has the potential to be very good though.
