  1. No - the met office (admittedly after the 6z runs), still think it's more likely to affect Southern England.
  2. If this 500mb - surface profile doesn't give more snow than progged i'll eat my hat PS - for people saying snow is just a hobby, right in some regards - snow isn't a matter of life or death, it's even more important than that.
  3. This is what we need to be seeing in the coming days, an intense upper trough in -16c air.
  4. Yes, don't see any relevance in strat charts in the near term, as anything is already factored in to the 500mb charts, yes i will be concerned if zonal winds rise above average and stay there long term, of course if the zonal winds were predicted to fall below 0 m/s AND STAY THERE FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME then different story.
  5. Yes - watch and hope - they mention mild returning next weekend though, but their 6-15 doesn't tie in with 16-30 as that ends with mild and wet and the 16-30 starts of drier than average, and colder than average.
  6. Remember though, the eps are dumping a fat PV over Greenland in the extended as well.
  7. ECM a corker. keeps us cold from then. until And a good deal of what falls from the sky will be snow, even low levels and even in the South.
  8. Yes, not even hard to spot - -8c much further south AS A ENS MEAN, not a million miles of South coast.
  9. What happened with that? could of sworn i saw an amber warning, did they get the area wrong or was it that it was such a pasting that it should have been a red?
  10. Thought we started off quite well, was hoping GEM would have support though, ECM spoils things though, eps still decent in that things have stabilised to about a 4-5 day cold spell when it was reducing all the time 36 hours ago.
  11. Yes, belter - ensembles not terrible for Plymouth, margin for error improving all the time.
  12. Much better this morning, decent length of spell - great that its all amber & green, usually shortwave and green don't go together, usually i think of red.
  13. The GEM is run of the day, longjevity and multiple snow events for a week after that chart.
  14. ECMWF - WTF! - was expecting rubbish. I'm sure you hadn't heard of any of these superlatives to describe a big snowfall event either - Stonker, corker, belter, pasting, tonking, hiding, or telephone receiver to describe 1991, or indeed last night, pseudo magic roundabout to describe a stalling push of cold from North, now there's no doubt who to blame for these!
