Same here despite me sending an email from Lothian & Borders about not travelling. The word is reactive rathern than pro-active. So we will get sent home in the middle of the storm!

Ski lovers ....the Aonach Mhor weather station peaked a while ago 3800ft altitude but now dropping back. I could be wrong but temps seemed to have peaked and are dropping now. My local station had 9.9c this morning and now it is 7.7c. Hope they keep falling might get some snow later out of this!

Yeh that's what I thought. Unless they are wrong the central belt will get very little!

Not a jot said about storms in my work. Usual at 2pm they will say Aye it's quite bad think you should go home..just when it hits!

Met office and BBC have said nowt about widespread snow so someone has it wrong!

Just in Nevis Range open on Saturday along with Glencoe...I've got to get up there! We plan to open for skiing this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, 9.30am-3.30pm. Opening will be dependent on the weather over the next 2 days, as well as the weather at the weekend. In terms of lifts, we will be able to open Alpha and the Quad chair, and we may get the Goose t-bar open later in the day. We will update the snow conditions as soon as we have this information. Day tickets will be £20 adults and £13 child. Ski hire will be open at the weekend and the Snowgoose bar will be serving breakfast rolls, soup, filled rolls, baking, coffees etc. [snowsports.nevisrange.co.uk]

Calm before the storm...cup of tea going to watch the Frozen planet at 9pm..hopefully it will be replicated in Scotland 9pm tomorrow!

Yeh it's going to a very quick transition. The met office cannot nail this perfectly. They had temps peaking at 9c yesterday for a while now they say 6-7c so maybe not as balmy as they thought. I think we should get some snow early 5am then rain after 8am then snow again at 3pm who knows! It will be a check of the thermometers every house to see the change!

Glencoe are palnning to and had piste bashers out yesterday, Also Nevis may open early, Cairngorm will probably be open. Weather looks calm on Saturday. However all resorts are awaiting the result of the storm before a decision is made on Friday. I am planning Coe or Nevis. The west has the best snow while Cairngorm has a thinner base. Met office mucking about with snow warning. Central 4am to 9am yellow Friday!Then nowt for Strathclyde! Probably change by this afternoon a lot of guesswork going on I suspect.

No I meant it will form snow in the uppers better than very small moisture droplets that tend not to form snow in marginal situations. I expect it to be heavy snow tonight!

uppers are -5c at the moment and sea level 1-2c. Should be marginal but I feel the heavy rain will freeze better than the light precipitation...fingers crossed!

Think the key word here is patience. That big B**s**D band of snow out west is so heavy it will easily turn to snow. I think because we are in the very light stuff it's melting on the way down at the moment...Trust me guys snow is coming!
