  3. -3c in Scotland and 12c in northern Scandanavia in December..must be April Fools already. Mind you it has been spring like!
  4. OK it's icing sugar but it's a start: Nevis Range 22/11/2011 And The Ben:
  5. Yes agreed and it's the same for Scotland. Not a drop has fallen in the mountains. However the next week looks like building something of a base hopefully!
  6. I will be happy if the mountains turn white above 2000ft.That is what I expect. Anything else is an absolute bonus. I worry about the current warm uppers.
  7. Yeh I don't know how it's thrown up -13c! I can't see it getting lower than -5c myself! P.S The chart was only done about an hour ago so it is current.
  8. Fingers crossed for middle of next week some real cold in there!
  9. Slight chance of wet snow in Central Scotland. No sign of extreme or even sustained cold!
  10. Yes agreed I can't see anything coming in the next few weeks. Possibly some snow on mountains which will thaw and freeze. However it will not be enough to start a base of snow. I predict no skiing this side of the year. As said before I cannot remember a November in Scotland without some significant snow on the hills,a day or two of snowfall at low level. This is worse than the mildest novembers we had in the late eighties and they were bad.
  11. I meant CST Central Scotland Temp...I must be losing it! Yeh basically the central Scotland Temps are double those of last November so this is hurting us this year!
  12. This autumn has been truly awful so far. Stats for Polmont Average NOV CET 8.4c 2011 November 2010 CET 4.0c. Whilst we still have a week to go. There is nothing cold coming so we are looking at double of last years CET. I just hope the pattern changes or we could end up with no Snow until next year!
  13. Yes I get the feeling we seem to be having a permanent Autumn type weather rather than seasons. I have thought this for a while. We had a warmer day in November in Scotland at 18c than we did for some days in July. What does this mean? Well we have historically always had dips and troughs and crazy mild temps in the winter. What I don't think is the same is that we seem to have just constant mildness. The pattern is above average, mild, average, cool. But there does not seem to be any cold periods. This is the worst autumn I can remember. The 4000ft mountains in Scotland are bare! There has been one frost and it's the 18th of November! I get the feeling winter is cancelled this year!
  14. Thanks yeh thought the weather was going to be wet.Probably do the gallery and we are going for cocktails at Mojo. Indie/rock cocktail bar should be a laugh!
  15. Nothing to do with the thread. I am off to Manchester tomorrow never been before. Is there anything I should definately see? p.s I am a big Smiths Fan!
  16. I have known them to be bare at various times throughout the winter. However that is interspersed with snow that melts not just no snow for November at all. The way it is looking this will be the case.
  17. I suppose if we are honest with ourselves. We have had a very mild and sometimes hot Sept/Oct and now November! The recent history tells it's own story. As we move into winter now the pattern seems to be established. I am just worried about the Ski centres this year. I have never known no snow on the mountain tops for the whole of November!
  18. Polmont yesterday -Maximum temperature = 18.5°C on day 10 at time 14:11 Only 1.5c off the Scottish record for November! Can't see this winter being anything special.
  19. Looked at old records Today it was 17.4c in Pomont Record for November is 20c: November 20.2 °C 7 November 2003 Lochcarron (Ross & Cromarty)
  20. Yeh but so far for November the average high Polmont has been : Avg daily max temp :13.3°C This is well above. Ok we have 20 days left but the rest of the week is mild and into the weekend so can't see it evening out that much. This Autumn now stretching into winter has been very warm!
  21. Paris November Avg Low: 6° Avg High: 10° Avg precip: 0.93 cm Falkirk November Avg Low: 4° Avg High: 9° Avg precip: 7.11 cm
  22. I'ts not like last year at all see article: Swedish snow in November no show Published: 9 Nov 11 12:07 CET | Double click on a word to get a translation Online: http://www.thelocal.se/37256/20111109/ Share Tweet According to meteorologists, the month of November has so far seen the least snow in over a hundred years in Sweden, in stark contrast to last year's late autumn blizzards. http://www.thelocal.se/37256/20111109/
