  4. Not too bad. If only looking a few hours ahead they are usually about right. But you know how fickle snow is 0.5c either way and you get sleet or snow or rain!
  5. Strange temp is dropping from 2.2c to 1.8c near me! Not at home so relying on my altitude expecting heavy snow on my hill when I get back from Edinburgh.P.S cloudy but quiet here!

  7. Heavy snow spotted on Traffic cam: M74 J12 http://trafficscotland.org/lev/
  8. I suspect it will be snow tonight for all but West of Glasgow. As for Thursday the Speed of that front is incredible. The temperature could peak at 8c then drop to 2c in about 3 hours that's our snow!

  12. Yeh but unconsolidated snow disapears amazingly quickly. I remember last year we had 28 inches in the garden built up over 28 days and within 2 days it was down to about 4 inches and hard lumps! Rain is snows nemesis even a little!
  13. I think the week will pan out as follows: Tomorrow dry am cold 2c Tomorrow pm -Heavy snow from west Wed - mixed sunshine and wintry showers Thursday - mixed am Mild pm -Heavy rain Early Friday am couple of hours of heavy snow So we will lose all our snow in the brief 8 hour mild spell Thursday pm But the back edge will re load the snow. :smilz38:
  14. Snow just started here looking good on the radar!
  15. Aye could be interesting I hope some of it gets blown south to Central Scotland wishful thinking!
  16. Not sure if it is a polar low ..check out East of Iceland starting to curl. If it is a polar low it can create a dramatic winter storm.
  17. At the moment Thursday 6am to 21.00pm is the warmer sector hitting Scotland. Coincides with the rain band. However after 9pm things cool dramatically from the North. So watch out for substantial back edge snow on Thursday night. This could be an interesting night watching the thermometer!
  18. At work in Edinburgh not much snow! Anyone still hopefull of heavy snow on Thursday? I know it is marginal.
  19. Well that's it say hello to the snow when it comes! ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
