    Question about tonight guys, only slight accumulations are expected but surely parts of Kent could actually do quite well here, the radar shows this possibly being the case with more snow perhaps than the light dusting forecasted, even if only a few cms.

    Snowing lightly here, nothing more than a quick event before milder air moves in but still nice to see.

    Ground very saturated at the moment, I think a dry spell would be very useful right about now but looks like more rain this week.

    I don't know about you guys but GFS 6z looks ilke a huge downgrade to me, the GFS 0z had very cold uppers showing and the cold hanging on well up until mid Feb which to me looked like a great run. on GFS 6z the cold looks nowhere near as deep and gets pushed away by the Atlantic pretty easily by late next week.

    Pretty memorable event here, the day was quite cold and icy but it was in the evening when things got interesting, started as rain and I began to hear thunder as well, then turned to sleet, I had a friend over at the time and on the way back to his house it began to snow heavy, was amazing to see in just 10 minutes the rain turn to snow like that and still the only thunder snow event I've witnessed, the snow didn't stick but an amazing event despite that.

    Only cold rain here last night but was fun seeing Northern France getting very heavy snow and was a very good cold spell, best part about today, the sun is out, the endless grey skies were starting to get very depressing.

    I'd rate this spell 7/10, better than both last Feb and the second cold spell of December 2010 which wasn't all that great here, this though has had 5 separate snowfalls, with 2 accumulating more than 2cm, it's lasted over a week and we even had frosts lasting all day last week, but maybe could've had more frosts and lacked sunshine/clear skies. Cold: 6/10 Snow: 7.5/10 Frosts: 4.5/10.

    Had snow flurries this morning, still got a little snowcover here and there and downs looked great on the train, 2C the max so still cold but would like the sunshine as it's been way too cloudy lately.

    Mum finally home, A23/A27 a nightmare apparently with ice and snow on Dyke road and woodland drive very bad, still snowing here as well, thinking of a walk to the South Downs on friday to find the deeper stuff.

    Snow may not be settling but neither it is thawing, could we have a 5th day of snow cover as that it quite rare here.

    Snow here and just noticed a fresh layer on some of the cars, temperature still 1.1C and dew 0.9C.

    Temperature stuck at 1.1C, dusting of snow from 1 hour ago still there, hopefully it doesn't warm up again.

    Rain here but surprised at the fight that the snow is putting up, still quite snowy on the roofs and cars but is melting, temperature dropped to 2.7C now.

    Goodbye snow, you've been great, as has this cold spell, the best here since early december 2010, and one that won't be forgotten, still quite a bit laying but melting at 3C.

    An amazing drop of temperature in the last hour, 1 hour ago it was 0.3C, now it's -1.8C.

    Temperature just dropped below freezing here now, the cloud has been a nusience all evening with temperature hanging around 0.5C but has now cleared, -0.2C.
