  1. Can you see Gif images ? https://i.imgur.com/tOu4SwS.gifv Bit on the edge for Leicester, IMBY says I want a 30 mile budge east
  2. Maybe... Hirlam does look pretty epic. And Hirlam was also one of the most accurate models a few weeks back... If Hirlam is correct, tomorrow/wed morning will be one to remember for much of the midlands.
  3. I sell some of my data to the ICON scientists so no big surprise to see them pick up on the trend. Expect further ammendments towards 70cm as we approach T-0h. The kmanmxinator2000 is still showing 2 to 3mm of rain on the frontal edge, but this frontal edge moves across the region at 300 to 400mph at the precipitation cloud height so it only last the briefest of moments, and then it's snow from then onwards.
  4. You'd think so but the chief forecaster wasn't too impressed with my confidence intervals. Apparently they normally expect 90% and above. Some people are never happy. In other news santa tripped over the plug to my supercomputer so the 22z is a write off, but should be back online for the 23z.
  5. Yes. The 21z just rolled out, huge upgrade, 60 to 70cm for 98% of midlands. 100% certainty (with a 2% confidence interval).
  6. I forgot to mention, I also have my own supercomputer weather model and it is better than all the rest. Infact latest 20z output (my model outputs 0.1km resolution models every hour of the day) is showing 30 to 40cm from M4 through to the northernmost extent of the midlands, and it is predicting this with a 100% certainty (with a 3% confidence interval). Time for another tipple me thinks while the 21z rolls out from the Kmanmxinator2000 super computer.
  7. Ignore the bad run, all the pro's are off for Christmas, the data input into the models was probably left to recently minted university graduates with no experience and were forced to work Xmas Ye have little faith! just remember, MetO pretty much NAILED the event from a few weeks ago, and they nailed it about 24 to 48hr before the models started agreeing. It was pretty damn good from them. They still have 95% of us in the warning area, so i'm sure they know what's going down I have faith!
  8. Got like, a half centimeter here... radar showed snow for a good amount of time, but it was just rain. Obviously v. marginal.
  9. Rained for about 1.5 hours here, finally turned to snow right on the tail end, and I missed it ! surprised to look at the window after it stopped to see everything was white. Considering how much rain there had been, the snow must've been quite heavy to settle at all.
  10. MetO Upgraded me to 4 hours heavy snow too. Not sure where it's supposed to come from!
  11. Anyone else had quite a bit of melt ? Can hear the usual dripping, snow fallen off plants and slid off cars etc.
  12. Yes doesn't look like the current PPN to the north has been modelled at all on any of them... euro4, arpege, nmm...
  13. Nice! Yes longest i've seen it snow here too. I'm not sure i'll ever see anything beat my holiday to Whistler, Canada though. I was there in November, and it snowed 550CM in that month
  14. Haha Leicester snow shield has turned on the generator backup
  15. 06z Arpege is an absolute peach for my neck of the woods, wow. Comes across from the west. Brum, Coventry, Leicester etc to do well, if correct. 11pm. 2am
  16. Snow coming down finely here now. Just made a VERY treacherous trip to the petrol station so I have fuel to get to work tomorrow. I live in a small rural village. Roads have not been gritted our ploughed at all. Had to turn TC off, and give it a lot of welly just to get out the village (slight hill). I spent the entire journey fishtailing down the road, rear overtaking the front going down hills.. losing all traction and steering everytime I hit a deep patch of snow. My car is 300hp FWD with Pilot Cup Sport 2 summer tyres. Not the ideal winter machine tbf Wicked fun though.
  17. Interesting, radar shows lighter ppn - but looking at the window, it's as heavy as ever.
  18. Bah, I don't feel sorry for them, especially Sheffield. They get way more snow than we do down south.
  19. Small video of the snow in the garden here at about 7:30am just as it started getting light
  20. Yes interesting thing with that is they havn't reduced the northern extent much, only ever so slightly. Still amber for north midlands. They must be expecting this ppn to go a fair bit north ?
  21. MetO Amber Warning update. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings#?region=em&date=2017-12-10&regionType=area
  22. Lutterworth still smallish flakes but pretty heavy. It's just SUPER NICE that it's not marginal for once. No sleet, no rain, and no dripping sounds. Pure dry snow Hahahah, love Chris
  23. Thought I just heard thunder and got excited (never had snow thunder). But it was just my dad opening his drawer in the bedroom.
  24. Coming down thick and fast now boys (and girls ) and it's going to stay like this for the next 3 or 4 hours I think we well end up with more than 10cm.
