  1. It turned quite cloudy for a time an hour or so ago here, but now around 50% cloud cover with decent sunny intervals. The clouds that are around are of the developing cumulus variety that could probably easily bubble up to produce a shower this afternoon. Currently 19.7C.
  2. A lovely start to the day here with sunny periods. Plenty of jobs to do here too, but they can wait.....again. Showers forecast again, but it looks like they'll be more of a nuisance value if you catch one rather than anything significant so shouldn't really affect outdoor activities. Looks like being a reasonable weekend to end what has been a decent summer.
  3. Things clouded in here around late morning for a couple of hours or so, but then it was back to largely sunny skies by mid afternoon. A bit more cloud around again now. It has stayed dry throughout. A high of 21.8C and winds fairly light throughout so a pleasant day. Now time to consume curry followed by a few beers.
  4. It's certainly been a decent summer for large parts of the region. The negative for me has been the complete lack of thundery activity where I'm based. However, other than that, there have been significant periods of weather to cater for differing weather preferences throughout the summer, some decent periods of hot weather for heat fans, plenty of much less hot, but sunny days for those who don't like the heat, and although the first part of summer especially was quite cloudy at times, there has been no shortage of dry weather. Therefore, it's been quite decent for outdoor activities.
  5. A lovely morning here, mostly sunny and pleasant out, although there are some clouds gathering now. A few very light showers showing on the radar just to the SW of here, but even if we catch one or two, they are unlikely to amount to anything significant, more of a nuisance value.
  6. It turned into a sunny day here by late morning after a cloudy start. A warm day with the temperature reaching 20.6C. The bank holiday weekend is not looking too bad, with the possibility of the odd shower, but plenty of dry and sunny weather. Could be a lot worse.
  7. An overcast but dry start here. It should be an improving picture as the day goes on with some sunshine this afternoon.
  8. After a short period of rain very early on today, it's been dry since. Only 0.7mm of rain recorded so far today, so very little rain again here, despite the forecast. This has been the theme recently. It has been mostly cloudy throughout today but with some occasional brightness this afternoon with the sun now poking through the cloud. A warm and muggy day, a high of 22.2C.
  9. An overcast start here with moderate rain. Looks like being the worst day of the week here for rain. However, things look to be settling down in time for the bank holiday weekend. Fortunately, no intense heat in the forecast, it just looks like being pleasant with temps into the low 20s celcius, but most importantly should be mostly dry, so great for outdoor activities.
  10. A lot of cloud around today, but there were some sunny breaks early to mid afternoon and it has remained dry throughout. A warm and muggy day, temp reached 25.1C. Tomorrow looking like it may be wet. However, unlike other parts of the region, we have dodged most of the rain every time it has been forecast recently.
  11. An overcast but dry start to the day here. Only 1.3 mm of rain recorded here yesterday, substantially less than further North in the region. We really are struggling to get any decent rainfall in this area.
  12. It's been quite cloudy for much of the day here, although there were some periods of brighter weather this morning. I thought there would be a lot more rain judging by the forecast earlier, but we only had around 30 minutes of moderate rainfall just after lunch and a few sporadic bits and pieces of drizzle since. The worst of the rain was to the North of here. Only 1.2mm of rainfall recorded so far today. A muggy day with a high of 23.5C.
  13. It's been a nice sunny afternoon here. A similar temperature to yesterday, but feels much warmer as the wind is much lighter. I nipped over towards the Welsh border on an errand an hour ago where there was more cloud around and there was even a spot of rain in the air whist I was there. There does look to be a decent chance of some significant rainfall here tomorrow with an unsettled first part of the week before things settle down again in time for the bank holiday weekend, which is perfect timing. Hopefully it is not too hot.
  14. The clouds are beginning to break here with blue sky appearing. It will certainly be another decent day for outdoor activities. A lot less windy compared to yesterday.
  15. A cloudy start to the day here. No rain recorded overnight, so as I suspected might be the case, the band of heavy rain that was moving South fizzled to virtually nothing by the time it reached here. It does look very slightly damp outside, so there may have been the odd drop of rain, but nothing recordable. Another largely dry day likely here today. Tomorrow looks to be the next opportunity for some decent rainfall. We could really do with it.
  16. The wind has been strong and gusty here this afternoon. The temperature reached a warm 23C around mid afternoon and it's been mostly sunny, so the wind was most welcome whilst out and about.
  17. A stark contrast in conditions across the region it seems, mostly sunny here with very few clouds now. Rather breezy out.
  18. A nice start to the day here with decent sunny intervals, no rain so far today and looks like another decent day coming up for this part of the region. Chance of rain overnight, but the way things have been going recently, I'm not expecting anything significant to fall by the time it reaches here.
  19. A sunny start here, but then clouded in during the morning with limited sunny breaks, but stayed dry throughout. Much of the clouds have now dispersed to leave a largely sunny end to the day. All in all, not too bad a day. Looks like a showery weekend to follow.
  20. A stunning start to the day here, not a single cloud in the sky. An overnight low of 12.7C. It should turn into a perfect late summer day here, temps into the low 20s celcius and hopefully a nice breeze later, although it is very still at the moment.
  21. The metoffice forecast seemed pretty confident on a spell of rain, heavy at times, but I just couldn't see where this was coming from when looking at the radar this afternoon and the ppn that has turned up has decayed over these parts to practically nothing. We really could do with some decent rainfall.
  22. It was dry here until late afternoon, since when we've had some bits and pieces of rain, but this has amounted to nothing other than nuisance value, depositing the grand sum of 0.1mm. Still no appreciable rain looking likely in the coming days here and a largely dry weekend could be likely in this part of the region.
  23. A bit of rain here early on, only 1.4mm, from the dregs left over from yesterday's storms in the East. It dried up quickly this morning, but has stayed largely overcast all day, but a perfectly useable day out and about, a high of 20.6C. The one thing I have noticed this year is the lack of toadstools/mushrooms popping up in the garden. I'm assuming there just hasn't been enough moisture this year, as normally there are loads.
  24. A dry day today with no showers at all, let alone anything of the thundery variety, which is not totally unexpected. All in all, a decent day, quite cloudy this morning, but this gave way to some decent sunny periods by this afternoon. A high of 21.6C and quite humid, but a nice breeze to keep things pleasant enough.
  25. Unless something drastic happens, I think the best we can hope for is to see some very distant flashes from the storms over the Midlands/East Wales once it gets dark, that's if they are still going by then of course. Everything in this part of the world is decaying. Rain has just started here, which is the leftovers from the storms that sparked off over North Wales earlier.
