  1. Norfolk and Suffolk better get something out of this otherwise I am going to have a serious amount of egg all over my face
  2. BBC Look East forecast showing a small orange dot over the Thames estuary and a bigger orange area near the Wash. Not really going for anything more than a few snow showers elsewhere and Sat/Sun sleet and rain.
  3. Snow is actually quite beneficial for sheep. Unless they're buried obviously. Mine can come in if they want but being sheep they're always looking for a near death experience....?
  4. Glorious day, outside in the sunshine training my dogs, the wind is negligible and the sun is warm! Making the most of it...?
  5. I'm 10 miles SW of Norwich - all down to luck and the correct following wind!
  6. I wouldn't worry about the lunatics oop norf have a pop about the potential (or lack of) for the E/SE. We can all have a jolly good laugh later in the year when we have glorious sunny hot weather whilst they huddle under a murky layer of low cloud and drizzle
  7. BBC showing the areas at risk - the midlands, SW and north? Good grief!
  8. Looking ahead somewhat - just thinking of the Big Thaw. All that water..... I am ordering two weeks worth of moderate to gale force winds to aid the drying out process....
  9. It would have to progress like an express train to get far enough inland
  10. Lots of talk about the SE being in the best position (and some parts of S Suffolk) but not so sure Norfolk will be as lucky (or unlucky). Even with the potential at the end of the week the northern limits seem to fall short. Come along now, it's been 30 years (1991 didn't produce so much as a single snowflake!). Back off with the SE'ly flow please!
  11. Classic repeat of 1991 - no wonder I don't know what the fuss was all about!
  12. Will be interesting to see how far inland the showers are driven (and where tbh) I'm about an hour from the coast (either N or E, take your pick) and I do wonder whether they will manage Norwich! I'll decide on Tuesday morning whether to drive into deepest Suffolk. In the meantime cold and dry suits me fine.
  13. Trying to convince people that the forecast isn't rubbish is proving an uphill struggle - "I'll believe it when I see it"; "a load of hot air" ; "all a fuss about nothing"
  14. I think I might have to wear gloves for the first time in about 5 years. Now - have I actually got any gloves? I have gardening gloves, will they do? And a hat.....oh dear Lord! At least I have thermals and lined over trousies (which I virtually live in anyway).
  15. I've been waiting since Jan 1987 for what I call significant snowfall (would have been better to have had the potential before Christmas rather than 2 weeks before lambing...) I did see panic buying in Tesco earlier - one trolley with 10 x 8pks of 2L bottles of water so at least one member of the public has access to a forecast!
  16. Snow from France eh? Probably about as reliable as their storms.....
