  1. Urgh it has been so hot here today. There's no wind and it's been cloudy all afternoon - some cloud turned the sky black and it feels quite dark. We had a little rain this morning but all afternoon it's been sooooooooooo muggy! Wish we were due some storms to clear the air!
  2. well it's been too chuffing hot here for me today but it's now raining for the 2nd time this evening, nothing registering yet on rain gauge but the cool drizzle is most welcome! Now time for
  3. Had Large Whites, a Red Admiral and (possibly) a Speckled Wood today. 1st sighting this year was an Orange Tip and have had a Comma since. Conversely I've got loads of hoverflies and bees in the garden plus a few wasps. This year might not be a good one for butterflies which is why the Big Butterfly Count is asking for people to submit their sightings. Out of interest, my Buddleia was late to flower this year, in fact one of them isn't out properly yet at all! Bees & hoverflies are loving the Knapweed & Trefoil in the garden plus are seen spending the rest of the time on the Buddleia and Teasels
  4. ooooh that's one sexy purpley strike, nice one!!
  5. Agree chances look slim although the Blitzortung site is showing activity...
  6. Apologies if it's not my place to do this but I figured we needed a thread for today's fun
  7. <----- desperately seeking a hot male forecaster Anyway, back on topic, bloomin' warm here in the sun with little breeeze (making it a good day for flutterbies in my garden). Weather station currently says 21.4oC & 53% humidity
  8. Nice capture. Thank "Spoonybum" from all of us here on the forums won't you rofl
  9. hehe @ gottolovethisweather! Weather station says it's 19.3oC with 75% humidity. It's gone dark here plus eerily still and the air has a heavy, damp feel to it which is odd. Birds have gone quiet too and I've also got a "weather headache" developing now grrrr!
  10. It's bin day here tomorrow and I have to keep reminding myself of that fact as the neighbours wheel their bins out whilst doing thunder impressions
  11. I wish mother nature would sort her life out today - it's been spitting all day , no proper rain - infuriating!
  12. But a bloody good decision in the end! My comment came after the 1st garage/tornado scene but having just finished watching the programme & seeing you & the guys safe by a garage I take it back! Am very envious - destructive though they may be tornado-chasing looks like one hell of an experience - hats off to you guys!
  13. Surely a gas station isn't the best place to be during a tornado...?
  14. arrghhh wish I'd known this was on, catching the last 10 mins grrrrrrrrrr! Edit: Oooooh finally there is ITV1+1! Guess I will be up for a while yet then
  15. I agree Harry. In fact a recent survey indicated that the general public were very peed off with weather reporters using emotive language such as "barbeque weather" etc and the general consensus was that people would prefer to just know what the weather is forecast, not what the M.O./BBC/Weather forecaster thinks! Anyway, back on topic, no storms forecast down here boohoo
  16. could really do with a storm down here - I have a stinking "humidity headache" because the air is really thick & humid at the moment. Got very heavy rain again now
  17. Wow, it's suddenly started hammering it down here, not seen rain this heavy for a while!
  18. There's the possibility of some storm action down here tomorrow but I won't hold my breath - the south isn't the storm hotspot it used to be
  19. Well all I've got down here on the south coast is that wonderfully peculiar phenomenon whereby the sky to the north (out my front window) is a very dark grey/black but the the sky to the south (rear window) is blue with sunshine! Ahhhhh, gotta love weather!!
  20. Erm yeah, who stole my sunbathing opportunity? Overcast here, feels warm though; 18.4oC with 75% humidity.
  21. Not for me - I'll be topping up my tan and catching up on some books I've been meaning to read for ages (and fit a trip to the pub in there somewhere!) :winky: "Any early mist clearing. Some sunny spells but cloud will increase during the day. Rain will spread across counties to the south and east of London, including the City itself. Maximum temperature 21 °C."
  22. Hope all in the hit building are safe your way Sammie For those of us feeling storm-starved down south, the MO forecast for the end of next week is looking better for us! "Showers and sunny spells are then likely to continue from Friday, some showers heavy and thundery. These are expected to mainly affect southern, eastern and central parts of the UK at the start of the weekend."
