  1. awww a lolcat - not seen one of those in ages! My area has a 31% chance of storms at 13:00 and a 45% chance at 16:00. It's warm & muggy at the moment albeit overcast. Ground is very wet and sun did pop out but it's now gone dark again! Current temp 19.5oC with 91% humidity. A storm would be nice pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!
  2. I too noticed that circle on the western edge of Ireland - what on earth is it (if anything)?? Took a screen grab before it disappears off the radar...
  3. I get so fed up with having my peace & quiet ruined whilst in the garden by noisy neighbourhood kids on flippin' trampolines that I will be cheering any of their trampolines that go flying (unless they damage my house then I'll be even madder!)
  4. Ahhh I was puzzled at first, cheers Paul! I don't suppose the topic title could be amended by adding Tuesday's date though could it? Might make it easier to find in the future (same reason storm topics are dated)
  5. Wow it's an interesting topic and one that requires more investigation on my part I think but I only have a couple more weeks to do that before I go back to college and do my 3rd/final BSc year at college. If I were studying weather (darn it - should I have done?) I'd be looking into the decline of UK thunderstorms over the years for my dissertation but unfortunately that wouldn't be appropriate for my current course lol. As an aside, I remember when I was a kid (1970's-80's) that there were many overnight thunderstorms - so much more than we get now! It's still a standing joke between me & my (younger) sister about how I would climb into her bed during night storms coz they scared me so much! Oh how things have changed
  6. Odd - the temperature has gone up here since my last post! According to the Netweather forecast for my area we have a 51% chance of T&L from 10pm this evening. Does anyone know how likely this is please? Especially if it's correct that storms are now moving southwards. I live in hope that it's a 51% chance of T&L and ignore the fact that it also means 49% no T&L >.<
  7. It's wierd but it's gone really cold down here. I usually don't feel the cold but have just had to shut the door & put a sweatshirt on! Weatherstation says temp is 15.2oC, humidity 80% (has dropped 1 degree in less than an hour) but with windchill feels like 13.4! Brrrrrrrr!
  8. You and me both! I got so bored waiting for action I painted my nails (no prizes for guessing which colour) to take my mind off my lack of storms down here. Am sooooooooooooooooooooo jealous of all the lucky storm-catchers!
  9. Ooooh congratulations!! Now, the question is whether you will name the new bundle "Storm"...
  10. Woke up to thunderous rain at 9am but no actual thunder. Got a 51% chance today apparently so fingers crossed!
  11. Very heavy rain falling here for the past 5 minutes, my pond might overflow at this rate!
  12. Ooooh I like the central southern england (coastal)Torro warning! Hubby says if he wakes up in the morning to find I've covered the car in armour-plating he'll know why (ok, I watch too many storm-chasing programs!!) Heavy rain has just started up here, I've been watching it approach on Meteox. Just waiting for my cat (aka "soggy moggy") to come running into the house from outside squeaking a lot to tell me it's raining...
  13. Hmmm I woke up to very heavy rain just after 9am this morning but it's now just drizzling. Low risk for TS in my area but I guess you never know so fingers crossed for some weather fun!
  14. Ditto here, just been out for a cig and was gazing in awe at the cloud colours, speed and structures plus it's getting rather windy here too!
  15. wind gusts picking up here too and a lot of cloud cover however I am shattered so off to bed. Windows will be open just in case but can't do the radio thing coz I only have DAB radio's and I don't think they work for picking up sferics (do they...?) Good luck to those staying up
  16. BBC currently forecasting 50mm to 2" of rain plus thunder and lightning from around 6am in Hants across to Kent. I left Southampton 30 mins ago and it was torrential rain but it's bone dry here at home. Do we write off the Tstorm totally I wonder...?
  17. What started as a hot day with still, clear blue skies has now change to a warm day with increasing cloud cover albeit still warm. Thermometer says 23oC with 60% humidity and increasing wind. If I read the charts right we're not expecting anything down here in Hampshire are we? Darn it! Another pants year for storms
  18. hmmm I can't decide if the Eiffel Tower lights are pretty or gaudy... You're right tho' - cracking storm activity going on! Kinda makes up for being storm-starved here Edit: Blitzortung showing some strikes in Wales!
  19. Nooooooooooooooooooo Coast don't do it! We'd miss you! Back on topic, I've given up looking forward to Sunday now, I'll just take the day as it happens. Kinda disappointing since the storm forecast was 73% earlier in the week but hey, ho!
  20. I'm as guilty as the next person of wishing for severe weather events here but not this type http://www.billboard.com/news/storm-hits-pukkelpop-festival-in-belgium-1005321482.story#/news/storm-hits-pukkelpop-festival-in-belgium-1005321482.story
