  1. Very heavy rain falling again here, have had to turn lights on coz it's so dark!
  2. Phew, home again! Driving to / in the New Forest was apalling, worst weather I've driven through in ages. Motorway was very slow (apart from the usual death-proof speed idiots) and driving to my friend's house was interesting as I don't have a 4x4 and nearly floated my car across the "puddles" to her house! It has stopped raining here now, rain gauge now showing 9.8mm (was 6.4mm before I left), sky seems brighter too. Oh, and I agree about the disgusting lack of warnings issued by the M.O. I've fired an email to them and if I get a reply I'll post it. I was as nice as I could be lol! P.S. The Veggie "Larder Board" was very yummy Coast
  3. It's just started absolutely chucking it down here and is so dark that if I wasn't going out I would have the lights on! Oh well, off to the Forest I go for my ploughmans (nom nom). I hate driving in the rain (thanks to an accident years ago) so will be taking it rather slowly!
  4. No rain here at the moment but apparently raining in the New Forest which is flippin infuriating as I was going there to photograph butterflies & dragonflies today with friends - having to settle for meeting for lunch instead! Mind you, I wont moan if the flashes 'n rumbles come this way Think I'll be giving the airshow a miss tomorrow though unless we get a sudden unexpected heatwave lol
  5. Hmmm not sure what that means so I think I'll just stop worrying and occasionally glance at the forecast whilst remembering that nothing is guaranteed, thank you I so want to type a response here but am biting my tongue / sitting on my hands so I don't!
  6. I totally agree, what time is Coast firing up the bbq? Erm wth has happened to my storm chance? Was 73% earlier but is now 10%!!!???!!!
  7. Ooooooooh please don't let those forecasts change (unless they get even more severe hehehe) I'm waiting with excitement & bated breath for Sunday!
  8. Ooooh shiny! I like it, good work!
  9. Just rain here so off to bed, fingers crossed for being woken up in the early hours by a proper storm (51% chance apparently!)
  10. Nowt here now but rain which started just after a hedgehog ran over my foot in the garden! Hardly what I'd call a storm but better than nothing I suppose... Oh well, back to "Tornado Road"
  11. Ahoy there comrade up the road it's not your fault at all - let's just hope we get more!
  12. First flashes and rumbles have been spotted to my west - probably closer to Southampton / New Forest. Very intermittant and damned impossible to photograph (I've been hanging out the loft window trying!) Started at approx 2115hrs. Nothing now though
  13. Just had a text from my sister who is in a caravan 40 (driving) miles from here reporting a storm (St Leonards, Dorset). Deffo got my fingers crossed for a hit here coz we both love storms and have done since we were kids! She says that thunderstorms whilst in a caravan are even more impressive than in a house lol!
  14. According to Strikestar there are storms nearby but no sign here as yet. It was blazing hot sunshine earlier albeit very windy - now it's just very windy and over-cast! NW says 51% chance of storms around 10pm and if they come off I will be dancing a jig around the house!
  15. I was having a cigarette & saying hello to some hedgehogs in the garden. I have no idea what you're intimating... Cheers Harry, I'm off to London for a few days now, what's the betting any firework action in the South happens whilst I'm gone lol
  16. When I went to be at 2am there was very light rain falling (kinda mist-like) but it's been raining heavily since 08:30 here. Wind is gusting every now and then too. Rain has just lessened a bit but I think Coast is right - today is a day of rain rain rain and more rain!
  17. Someone has stolen my hot day with clear blue skies and replaced it with this gorgeous fluffiness (although I'd prefer a TS ta very much!)
  18. I hate to wee on your fireworks but the Southampton area used to be great for storms - but no more Any of the techies on here know why the predominant storm areas have changed? Does it have anything to do with Global Warming...? Oh and hello Adamjas in the north of the county, welcome to the forums and lets hope we can prove to your nipper that dad is telling the truth!
  19. I am so jealous of you lot with the storms especially as they seem to be happening where I used to live - Huntingdon / Cambridge area - around 8 years ago. I moved South and enjoyed our storms here but now they've decided to go north to where I used to live! Arrrghhhhh so frustrating! Photo's & videos would be much appreciated from you storm-enjoying-peeps pleeeaaaaasse
  20. Says offline when I try it... Apologies all for my earlier smut, I must learn to contain it in the future! Anyways, spent a few hours at the beach in Lee-on-Solent and it was overcast with a lovely gentle cool breeze coming off the sea. Just got home (which is only 3ish miles away as the crow flies) and it's hot, muggy and sticky - weatherstation says 24.3C / 54% humidity.
  21. Wheelie bins are evil and I still like my idea of everyone tying those huge cow-bells on them so us storm-lovers can easily tell the difference! As for tomorrow, well for once I am going to "do as I am told" and seek out the breeze on the beach (MO: Winds will be light inland but with cooler sea breezes near coasts.) Had some cool cloud formations today, will try to upload photo's later.
  22. 24.8C here, 57% humidity, Dewpoint 15.8 and I am finding it unbearable! For some odd reason my weatherstation icons today are clouds and rain but the sky is a gorgeous blue with just whispy white clouds & contrails in it
  23. I'm enjoying this (although I preferred Tornado's last week with our very own Tornado-nutter on it hehe)
  24. Erm us "ruddy Southerners" have seen very little action recently - the hoggers are up north!!
