    Yes I also remember it being fairly dry and sunny up to the 30th July here, and then 34C being reached on the 1st August making it the hottest day of the year. You're probably wondering what happened to the 31st July, well that was my birthday and it was wet and grim...typical!

    Almost feels like Spring out there, it kind of smells like Spring as well. The birds are singing and it's still light past 5 o'clock. Winter is dead and it will certainly go down as one of the snow free Winters ever.

    No sorry that wasn't my intention, I meant that similar speeds are being witnessed here and there's no warning out. Some gusts are similar as Wednesday and we were covered by an amber. Cheers though, tree near me looks like it's buckling.

    You think the winds are strong in the south? The Humber has around 60-70mph gusts right now and has not been issued a yellow warning, trees are down everywhere!

    Every year we see this pathetic, childish bickering of "I'm northern so I'm obviously more hardy", did you know people actually die from top to toe in this country because of strong winds? It doesn't matter where you live.
