No comment......The Latics showing Liverpool why not to underestimate a 'small' club, although it didn't seem like a small club at Boundary Park today. Never seen anything like it!
-
Wind and rain outside herenow, oh how I have missed this. NOT!
-
I think this might one another one of those occasions where the Models have duped some people with the slightest 'faux' potential (myself included) but no matter there's still plenty of time to go yet
-
After last nights fall it's now up to 6.5-7/10 for me, as others said the main downsides to it were the lack of sunshine and the lack of proper locked in deep cold meaning that anything that fell starting thawing pretty quickly but it certainly walks all over last Feb's so called 'cold spell' that is for sure.
-
I'm starting to get impression that something indeed is brewing here, many times before have the models hinted at a high pressure dominated setup only for the end result to be quite different.
-
Goodbye cold and hello Atlantic, all being well we'll be meeting again in the not too far distant future
-
Just went outside to take a few pics and I'm kinda worried that quite bit of it will already be gone by early morning especially at the rate that these temperatures seem to be rising at!
-
Will much of this snow be washed away by morning or should there be some time for a few postcard pics?
-
It doesn't look like it's going to make it on this run but as the saying goes the trend is your friend and all that.
-
This has to be the best snowfall of the winter so far without a doubt, too bad it had to come right at the end of the cold spell
-
Backtrack any snow for you yet ?
Of course I live IHBY, I'm surprised he hasn't commented on it yet lol
-
Just had out the window and holy s*** it's hammering down, I think it's fair to say that this cold spell is definitely going out with a bang.
-
grauple here now.........oh no snow again........................
lol I know what you mean, it seems trying it's hardest to turn into snow fully but it hasn't quite managed it.
-
Did anyone else in here build a Snowman during this cold spell btw? apologies if I'm continuing to go off topic here.
-
Well it looks I'll be saying goodbye to my Snowman friend very soon , fingers crossed I get the opportunity to rebuild him next month.
-
Whatevers prompted them to change it I suspect that they'll be made to think again when the ECM 32 dayer remains bullish in it's outlook on Friday, who knows I could be talking complete bull here but that's my hunch.
lol it looks like I called this one 100% correct after all.
-
Also has somebody actaully already created a spring thread on here?, honestly I really do give up.
-
"In terms of rain and snowfall, southern parts in particular will probably start wetter than average, but trend to nearer normal by mid-month, while the north will probably see drier than average conditions for much of the period. Temperatures for the rest of this period are not expected to be far from the seasonal norm."
Average temps are pretty cool/cold for Feb, and the "drier for the north" can only mean one thing, high pressure!!
So although these longer range forecasts are not really that useful, going on what it says today I certainly would not go for 5 weeks of zonal muck!
Whatevers prompted them to change it I suspect that they'll be made to think again when the ECM 32 dayer remains bullish in it's outlook on Friday, who knows I could be talking complete bull here but that's my hunch.

well I guess it's back to reading the model thread til hopefully the next cold spell comes. preferably this winter and not next.cheerio folks
Are you kidding me? that thread is enough to send even the most enthusiastic person into deep depression when the models aren't much of sign of cold weather.

i would be surprised if we dont get another cold shot before mid fed after the return of the atlantic by the weekend. on quite a few GFS runs over the past few days HP is shown its hand once again to start building again if you take a look at the canadian PV its busted once we get into the first week of fed that is great news for blocking
Going by GP's thoughts it really wouldn't surprise if the next Model rollercoaster has gotten underway by some point next week, I guess only time will tell.

To any my more nearby regional friends is there still a chance of something else for us this afternoon or is it pretty game over now?
-
3pm is usually the start of colder temps.
That said the temperature was as stubborn as anything by that time yesterday hence the continuous thaw we had so who's to say the same won't happen again?
-
Aye, it wont be light, that will be heavy, Irish Sea will pep them up - if this turns out how it's looking - 2010 is back on!
Hope so, the temperatures starting to gradually rise here again annoyingly.
-
Anyone on in the south of the region, the radar looks good, should be snow anytime now
C.S
Do south of Cheshire or south of the NW in general?
Edit: snowing here too now.

This may be scrapping the very bottom of the barrel but who saw late February 2005 coming? of course people will probably bring up the strengthening sun factor which is a valid point but personally I'd hold fire on calling of the winter altogether until that period has started to come into range at the very least,. And having just said all that I still wouldn't rule out something suddenly popping up in the much closer time frame.
