40% of benefits is paid to pensioners! Beware of the Government propaganda to make everyone believe that "scroungers" are the ones bleeding this country - tax avoidance is the biggest crime which highly paid people/large companies are very good at!!! Anyway, I'm still hoping for a little surprise come morning, I want to hear myself saying "They only said a few centimeters!!" Lol! I can dream!x -

Gaahhhh!!!! I'm so confused??!! MOD is going crazy for this cold/snowy spell and yet my Met and BBC weather apps say 9c for Wed and 4-5c thereafter?! Is this a case of everyone going crazy cos most people are from m4 up? Do we have any chance down here?! If anyone could explain I'd be most grateful!!xx -

Eeeeekk trying not to get excited but me and the kids (8 and 7) are severely snow deprived and have been hoping for a chance since November after last years disappointment, lol! Even if not tonight then at least the models have perked up a bit looking forward! Good luck everyone!x -
I'm thinking the fact this is going through the night goes in our favour due to further temp drops?Would love to wake to a pretty dusting tomorrow but not holding my breath either! Good luck fellow southeasterners!!xx

Hi all, I'm back for some winter fun and games!! Well hopefully!! Already a smidge of hope for some snow next weekend perhaps?!! Even if no snow, lovely chilly and seasonal weather Looking forward to our winter ahead on our SE forum, always good fun - well apart from last year! H x

Oooo I so hope this happens Steve!! For all us snow fans and for you and your hard work! Will be watching closely for THAT pattern change x

I seriously know nothing about model reading etc.. I cannot determine a chart, I'm merely a Mum of 3 who just has an interest in weather and an excitement for snow that was embedded in me as a kid in the 80's with lots of days off school, lol! However..... I've followed these forums for 4yrs now and have learnt a few things....look for consistency in output, look at overall trends and patterns, look at the bigger picture (inc NH as a whole), look for potential cold and not snow, don't rely on any IMBY forecast until at most 2/3 days away... What I see atm is all looking like it holds massive potential so I'm not chasing snow for the next few weeks (it's only 9th Nov!) but just looking for all the building blocks to carry on building and all working together to hopefully make a beautiful tapestry down the line!!! Like I said, I don't know much but the above is what I've learnt from the repeated posts from some sore disappointments and the more experienced on here, but what I see ignored by so many (some regulars!) on here time and time again!! I just don't geddit??!! Ah well, fingers crossed this all keeps heading in the right direction this year xx

Steve I barely know anything about the scientific/technical side of weather/forecasting (just a humble Mum of 3!) but have come on NW for the last 3yrs to read about any signs for snow! I still don't fully understand your posts but always enjoy reading them and you always help to explain it in the simplist of terms! I'm nowhere near knowledgeable but have learnt a lot so in my 4th year here and having followed your comments on the OPI thread too, I'd like to say thank you and keep up the good work!!x

I know, just hope it's true! I'm a reader more than a poster cos I have a great interest in the weather (especially winter!) but don't really have any technical knowledge at all - but i half get what is being said....sometimes, lol!!xx -

Hi fellow southerners! I haven't been on much but popped back onto NW in the build up to another winter approaching, lol! So has anyone else seen the thread about the October Pattern Index (OPI) in the Weather Discussion board? Well worth a look, I'm trying not to get too excited but the theory is looking positive for a colder winter!!xx -
