  1. Was v light grainy snow in Epsom Surrey but now dizmal drizzle Hoping we get a chance of some more snow later if the front is still about and temps dip....who knows - it would seem that's nobody then, lol?!!x
  2. I was gonna say the same, your sig definitely sums up how a lot of us feel about snow - I for one won't be sitting up late watching radars/lamposts, half the fun for me is going to bed and waking like a kid on xmas morning to look out the window - will never forget the scene or my gasp in 2010!!!! H x
  3. Heavy falling snow and settling beautifully here in Epsom! Looks gorgeous - would be perfect for xmas cos u can still get about but still pretty and Christmassy! My kids are so excited! Shame they've got school H x
  4. @Scottishandy thank you so much for taking the time to write that for us newbs! H x
  5. Yep I just squealed at the sleet forecast for Sat night here, lol! I'm just glad to have some lovely seasonal coldness - hats and scarves and no drizzle/rain! H x
  6. Me too!!!! Can't wait to hear "widespread" "low level" "worst of the weather in the south eastern corner for some days to come" (worst from weathermen, BEST for us types, lol!! H x
  7. Correct me if I'm wrong cos I am as amateur as they come but.... When I joined this forum last yr I quickly learnt from posts that the UKMO shouldn't be trusted, that the Meto forecasts were useless (fair enough, bad track record up to then) So when they showed consistent Mild, people ignored them in favour of the odd flickers of hope we got from ecm/gfs. It then transpired that the UKMO/Meto had been right all along and all we did get was mild....until they correctly predicted the "turning colder/snow" that we got layer on??!! So maybe we should have more faith in UKMO? As I said, I may not know what I'm talking about but pls don't shoot me down, just wanted to know if my memory serves me correctly?!! Ta!x
  8. FC for a BETTER than 2010!!! The potential seems to be there...as am I....just waiting! Lol! H x
  9. Ghost town...... Cue tumbleweed! Oh well, hope for some better updates in the morning!x
  10. Yes I remember being out walking like it was Spring last Feb - was lovely after all the cold we'd had and by this time I'm always well ready for some sunnier warmer weather! Also remember the snow on 6th April 2008 because I was trying to walk in it with my crazy 17mth old while heavily pregnant with my second baby (fun!), born just a mth later when it was BAKING! Gotta love our bizarre contrasts in weather, eh?!x
  11. So does anyone actually know of an official LRF that's been done for spring? Either an expert on here or a blogger or another site?! Would be really interested to read of one that been done using some scientific knowledge and research? Or for some to just tell me its going to be a warm and glorious Spring, lol! H x
  12. I took photos of the recent snowfall over blossomed trees and crocuses Must admit, as happy as I was when I saw cold/snowy weather on the cards, I did really worry about how it would effect plants and wildlife....I really hope its not to their detriment. H x
  13. Back in Nov, a month before Winter, all the "professional" forecasting sites and blogging amateurs were all doing their long term forecasts for the coming winter.... Does anyone on here (pre other sites) do their LRF for Spring?! I'm now starting to get that feeling for NEEDING some warmer and longer days! Really want to read some thoughts on it because there were a couple of people on here that got Winter nearly spot on! Thanks! H x
  14. More snow than Sat nites efforts.... BUT - roads clear so no snow day !! Guess its all the salt that's been about all week - even tho my little cul-de-sac wasn't salted, its been brought up here by all the cars wheels etc.... Still, it looks lovely out there but I'm still poorly so not sure I'll be able to go out to enjoy it ....but hopefully it'll hang around for tom when I may feel better and kids here too to enjoy it!x
  15. Much heavier here now, looks more like proper snow than Saturdays! Only thing is its not gonna snow for as long so don't expect to wake up to total white tom morn - still not settling on road?! Off to bed now so we'll see come morn! H x
  16. Question....its not settling on roads yet but would the fact its making roads wet and its gonna be below freezing tonight mean that it cud be severely icey?! Just thinkin about the school run tom morn?! H x
  17. Yep now snowing in Epsom, v light small flakes but its there and settling on cars! Not expecting loads but more worried about ice tom because if its an inch of wet snow that then freezes, that's gotta be road icerink hasn't it?! H x
  18. I thought this "snow" was supposed to be worst in Midlands then coming down here with a now swing to east....just checked radar and latest Ob's on Meto site and everything is falling as rain at the mo - was that forecast? Maybe changing to snow later when temps drop at nite?! Does look v eastward bound too?! I've not been v well so haven't read thru pages on this or MOD thread so is what I've said above what has been recently forecast or is it just completely different?! H x
  19. Meto forecast just updated to light snow due here about 3pm?! Wasn't expecting that....altho I'm guessing it'll be nothing more than a bit of a flurry - still nice surprise tho!x
  20. Just got back from a walk around Epsom common, beautiful over there! Note pic of me sporting my new snowboots purchased back in November!x
  21. Not been out yet but guessing about 5cm....it was blowing around a lot last nite because its all stuck to the sides of things, inc my trusty lampost, lol! Really want to k PE if this gonna melt and be the end of this seasons snow or if we're due any more anytime soon?! Anyone got any knowledge on the next poss installment?! Off to get kids ready to go and play!! H x
  22. Haven't actually measured but would say about 4cm and moderately snowing now but with fairly small flakes. Been windy since it started at 6pm tho, blowing about a fair bit! Just checked Meto rainfall radar and looking to get bit heavier over next few hrs...guesssing we cud have about 8cm by morn if stays mod/heavy for next few hrs....just off to beddy-byes now so all shall be revealed come dawn!
