  1. Yeh, funky and chilled - bit like the SE is right now! (see how I tried to get us back on topic there, lol!)x
  2. Blue Orchid! Used to be called Blue Schoolkid cos always full of under-agers when I was a 'ripe old age' of 23....sigh...I'd gladly be that "old" again! Tiger Tiger seemed posh compared to the London clubs I'd been to!x
  3. Love it all around there! Never made it up there in the snow tho! Bluebell woods around there in Spring - when we get a good one!x
  4. I lived on Boxhill as a kid in the 80's winters.....wonder where i get my love for snow from??!! Many a missed school day cos school was in Dorking! Was thinking of trying to get up there tomorrow, what r the roads like?!x
  5. *ears prick up* - Surrey getting a bit of streamer action? How likely and any idea on the amount of snow from it?x
  6. We've had a nice covering in Epsom Surrey, enough for the kids to go in their sledges! Just dust falling now.... Meto still have light snow pretty much thru to Mon night (odd few hrs with just cloud) but I'm thinking this is it until Sunday now - if that def happens?!x
  7. Epsom Downs! V cold and windy but still small flakes - only started 2hrs ago so not bad coverage considering!x
  8. Epsom has this weird white stuff falling out of the sky - anyone know what this might be?!x
  9. Surrey, do u work in London? Or are u saying snow in Thorpe? Getting cloudier here in Epsom....x
  10. Eeeek!!! Not ANOTHER day of conflicting forecasts?!!! Aaagghh!x
  11. My hubby doesn't get it at all, lol! He's one of these "the weather will be what it will be" types of annoying people! Last winter I was a closet weathergeek but this winter I "came out" as a complete nerd - more so in my excitement for snow and my FB buddies like my updates! I grew up on Boxhill thru the 80's winters - cos we got to schools in Dorking by coach, even if there wasn't much snow in the morning, we'd be kept off school in case we couldn't get back up later so I psychologically attach memories of snow to loads of exciting days playing in the snow and being home with Mum!xx
  12. Love this - perfect! Anyone on here a fan of 'Friends' remember the episode with Ross and the sofa - PIVOT!!!!x
  13. Just plain ridiculous!!! Everything is telling me that it'll be so cold here by then (if it's not already!) that we will get a good couple of days of snow..... but having been burnt last time these sorts of things make me a bit wriggly!!!x
  14. I would love it too but just worry that SIX DAYS away when the other night we couldn't work out what was happening 6hrs away! I will watch with excitement of the possibility but not quite belief yet!x
  15. Lol! I'm thinking of getting the kids from school now in case I can't get get there at 3pm!
  16. I'm in Epsom so just got excited but I think you're mistaken - isn't that talc?!! Lol, barely there but guess it shows its cold enough out there?x
  17. Nothing here! Not even icey! Hubby is a driving instructor so it looks like his pupils test at 8.30 will go ahead after all! So how's it CURRENTLY shaping up for the rest of the week then?!x
  18. It seems the disappointment has caused some peeps to get a bit narky... Altho I love looking at charts showing snow and get excited by the regional ramping, I am a bit if a natural pessimist and if I'm let down once then I'm doubtful the next time, as I was with this snow event - definitely better to lower expectations and be pleasently surprised than expecting Narnia and getting sleet! Don't get me wrong, I'm so disappointed by today but there were some people who kept a level head and warned "it can change at +24 +12 +6 etc and they aren't wrong yet often slated! I don't know enough to comment on charts but as a forum reader I've learnt to get excited by charts but not always believe in them... And I've only been on forum since last winter, god knows how longterm members cope with the disappointments, lol! Had sleet here earlier and Met been saying all day/still are saying light snow for Epsom tonight.... Shall be awaiting radar-readers repirts later! Keep smiling all, lots of cold weather opportunities left! H x
  19. It does seem so unfair that we've really had to wait for this cold weather, been teased already and were always of the opinion "get tge cold in first" and now its here, ppn is still falling as sodding rain! Still...the proper cold has only just arrived so I guess there's still time but its just a v v frustrating wait, lol!x
