  1. Bit quiet in this thread. Looking nippy next week ...
  2. About an hour ago I was driving back to Newcastle from Blyth. The snow was very heavy in a strong wind between Blyth and Annitsford. Dry in Newcastle at first but then light snow started falling which has since stopped. No covering obviously! But still nice to see all the same.
  3. A small amount of sleet mixed in with the initial onset of the rain band. Chilly and damp now.
  4. We had a hail shower this afternoon. Been ages since I saw hail so it was a surprise. Otherwise cold but clear and sunny for pretty much all of the day.
  5. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/ne6?day=1 Tomorrow looks essentially riveting all day.
  6. In the depth of winter it would be nice to see this thread buzzing with excitement. Instead we have a handful of posts a day at most, as nothingness prevails above. Grey, greyer and even greyer. This really is dull weather - no pun intended! The models aren't even offering any crumbs of comfort for the foreseeable future either. Roll on spring.
  7. It tried to rain about an hour and a half ago. But it failed. The grey and glumness continues. Is this 50 Shades of Grey being played out in meteorological terms?
  8. Yesterday and today was quite cold and cloudy. Doesn't look much better for the weekend in all honesty. Bring back the sunshine and 10c please!
  9. Not spring-like but certainly not wintry either. Saying that, there has been a bit of a breeze today which was quite chilly. But as you say, wall to wall sunshine for pretty much all of the day which looked quite pleasant.
  10. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/ne6?day=3 Snow for me on Wednesday morning. Yeah, I know it'll be drizzle but still ...
  11. Yep glorious sunshine today although still a bit nippy - but it is early February I suppose!
  12. It's been lovely and sunny for quite a large part of the day today though, and tomorrow's looking good too but chilly at 5c.
  13. Ah wrong thread. This is the "snow-free" thread. See above
  14. Certainly nice to see some sunshine even if it is still rather chilly.
  15. Was this taken from your bedroom window this morning? I assume you're grounded and are taking pics to pass the time ...
  16. Pretty accurate forecast as it happens.
  17. Frost? Crikey, well above freezing here and only variable amounts of cloud. Be nice to see the sun over the weekend actually if the BBC forecast has got it right.
  18. Yesterday made me realise I'm getting old and grumpy. Unfortunately I had to spend time on the road and on foot, in drizzle. Drizzle is both garbage to drive in and garbage to walk around in. You can't put your wipers on properly but then deciding which speed of intermittency you need is also a pain in the rear. And walking around in it is just pants! Rant over - much like winter as things stand. Have a nice evening and weekend folks.
  19. It's that light you can't even see it? Have another look ...
  20. Woke up to a covering of snow this morning which despite being barely worth talking about, was the first lying snow I've seen for almost two years (not counting the one we had a few days ago as that was just rubbish!). Had a few beefy snow showers during the day but it's all gone now. I wouldn't bet against that being that for this winter sadly ...
  21. A covering of snow. Nothing to white home about.
  22. I know. Plus the temperatures were a good 2 or 3 degrees colder as well back in 2010. I will be amazed if we get even so much as a couple of cm's of snow over the next 24/36 hours before the convection dies away.
