  1. I must admit, I am getting paranoid that the temperature isn't dropping, and is above freezing. The snow isn't settling, and if it gets too wet then I'll be worried about tomorrows settling. Currently 1C and has been forr about two hours now.
  2. It's been snowing constantly here in Swindon since about 3PM. Only light, but 5 hours of snow and nothing has settled. It is very light in nature, and temperature is still 1C. I hope the wet ground will freeze overnight before the next heavy band of snow moves inland.
  3. For anyone who missed Ians forecast - http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=376743355754147
  4. Very nice forecast from Ian. The snow totals across much of the region seem higher than they were yesterday. Will place a link when it's uploaded to their Facebook!
  5. That's happened many times here too. Back in the summer, areas all around got 30mms of rain, and we only got about 4mm. Same sort of thing happens with wind. I don't think that will happen tomorrow. I'm feeling lucky about this one.
  6. Looking good for Monday! I think I'll get Fridays event out of the way before looking forward. 14mm of Rain down for here tomorrow/Saturday, that means around 10-15cm's of snow?
  7. Forgot to mention that It's been snowing for about 30 mins here. Only light, but still snow!
  8. Just seen the wetaher forecasts - Orange warnings extended much further south and much further west!
  9. I can't get my head aound the fact both the BBC and MetO are forcasting snow from Friday morning until Saturday evening, when the grraphics show that it will have cleared by late Friday. AM I missing something?
  10. I'm not sure - Possibility of 20cms in places, and I'm sure some areas higher up could see 25 or 30cms. Guess It's one to watch and see what happens! I'm fairly certain, that even if the forecast does change, it won't change so drastically that we will all miss out. Just to think, 24 hours from now we could all be under snow.
  11. Looking good still for us! 36 hours of snow still being forecast here by the BBC and MetO, and hopefully that won't change. -0.8C at the moment, a lot warmer than yesterday morning.
  12. NW's snow forecast just been edited for here. Shows 18mm's over Friday and Saturday all falling as snow! No change please!
  13. I can't seem to tell if the westward shift would mean an upgrade for our areas (NE regions of the SW), or a downgrade. Would anyone be able to enlighten me?
  14. Still looking good! A good 4 inches for NE areas of the SouthWest...I'll take that! Hopefully some areas further west can share this too.
  15. How long are you down for snow? Even though It's light, some people are forecast 36 hours of snow, and I think that may cause some big accumulations too.
  16. I was thinking that too. Only -1.9C here, when this time last night was verging on -4C. I'm guessing we can blame the cloud cover. If this clears, I don't think I'm going to want to go outside tomorrow morning!
  17. You never know..maybe playing it safe for a while? I think they said about 10cm's for here - Although I'm hoping for a bit more. I remember January 2010 saw us get about 6 inches of snow. I wonder if we will get that again?
  18. BBC have updated the forecast for Swindon - Snow starting 5AM Friday morning - Clearing 6PM SATURDAY EVENING. It's getting closer, and it's hard not to start believing more in the forecasts. Still time for change, but I don't think we will miss out on everything. Currently -2.1C Many apologies! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=376310009130815
  19. Nice graphic on Ians forcast - Looks like 24 hours of snow is possible over some areas, and possibly a repeat performance come Monday!
  20. Just noticed that the MetO's amber warning is on the highest column for impact. If the reliability increases, that could turn to red in a few lucky/unlucky spots.
  21. It certainly looks like it has the potential to be, but It's still 5 days away. Max temp here today was -1.1C - Temps fell to almost -5C last night, with the possibility of it being colder tonight.
  22. Almost fell off my chair when I came in to see that they still are forecasting snow. My location is close to the amber warning, and it looks that a lot of us will see some snow! Hopefully this won't change!
  23. Is that the whole of the SouthWest, or just Devon/Cornwall?
  24. We're still much in the firing line! BBC and MetO have us down for snow from Midday Friday to Saturday evening! Much time for change though. That sucks :/ There's still time for things to change for the better though!
  25. Temps reached -4.6C last night, still not the coldest of the winter though. I think tonight might reach -6 here. As for the mention of snow, I'm too scared to look at the models, but as we are getting closer, and it still looks snowy, in my area atleast, it does make me feel soemwhat confidence that some of us will get to see something.
